Introduction to Ito Onsen
Background
Ito Onsen is located in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and Ito Onsen is one of the three major hot springs in Japan along with Beppu Onsen (Oita) and Yufuin Onsen (Oita). A total of 46,080,000 liters of water flow out of the hot springs, with a flow of 32,000 liters per minute, and the number of springs exceeds 750, making it the largest hot spring resort in Shizuoka Prefecture. Ito Onsen is said to have been discovered dating back to the Heian period (794-1185) or even earlier. During the Edo period (1603-1868), the hot spring was dedicated to the third shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, as a healing bath. It has been loved as a health bath since ancient times and is still used by many visitors.

The types of springs are mainly simple springs and weak salt springs. Pure Spring is low irritation and gentle for the skin. Spring water that contains 1 to 5 grams of salt per kilogram of spring water is called weak saline water. Kinosaki Beach
The seongsaki coast was formed by lava flows erupting from Mt. Ōmuro about 4,000 years ago. A stroll along the 9-kilometer picnic route and the Nature Study Road is recommended. The 48-meter-long and 23-meter-high Munwaki Suspension Bridge is a thrilling and spectacular sight with a 360-degree panoramic view of the Izu Islands and the Aragi Mountains from the observation deck of the Monwaki Lighthouse. In addition to the magnificent scenery, you can also admire beautiful flowers such as hydrangeas in June, camellias and suzu orchids in July, and isocaba and Tsubaki trees in autumn.

Every year on the second Sunday of February, a traditional event called "Yamayaki" is held to burn the entire mountain, which attracts many tourists.
