The online car market has learned that GAC Passenger Vehicle is currently introducing the A79 model project, which is an upgraded model of the GS3. At this stage, the GS3 is fully equipped with 1.5T three-cylinder/four-cylinder engines, but according to previous reports, GAC Trumpchi has completed an engine expansion project, including a 1.0T engine, and will be applied to the GS3 and GA4. From this point of view, the replacement GS3 is very likely to use GAC's newly developed 1.0T three-cylinder engine, or replace the 1.5T three-cylinder on sale, and fuel consumption will further decline.

This 1.0T engine adopts direct injection in the cylinder, the fuel injection pressure is 350 bar, and the higher injection pressure can make the fuel atomization effect better, the oil and gas mixing effect is better, and finally achieve the purpose of improving combustion efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. According to previous publicity, the engine is also equipped with a 48V motor to improve the performance of low torque and reduce fuel consumption to a certain extent. At present, GS3 is available in two power versions of 1.5T three-cylinder and 1.5T four-cylinder, considering the current consumer acceptance of the three-cylinder engine, it is expected that this 1.0T engine will replace the existing 1.5T three-cylinder engine and become the new entry power.
In terms of sales performance, GS3's cumulative sales in 2021 reached 34,910 units, and the monthly sales in December were 1,741 units, which is quite remarkable in the family. However, compared with the competitors of the same level, its annual sales reached nearly 3 times that of GS3, and there is still a more obvious gap between the two. After the GS3 is completed, it is expected to use a 1.0T three-cylinder engine with lower fuel consumption, and the price will be reduced. However, some consumers will still resist the three-cylinder engine, even if it may have lower fuel consumption and cheaper prices, but whether it can be accepted by most users is still unknown.
