On March 29, Southern + learned that LAGIRE, an urban public mobility project in Lagos State, Nigeria, has been officially launched, and GAC MOTOR delivered the first batch of 1,000 GS3 and GA4 models. This is another major achievement of GAC MOTOR and overseas distributors to focus on key markets and promote the steady development of the African market, and take this as an opportunity to further penetrate the local market.

LAGRIDE is a brand new "Lagos State Taxi Scheme". As early as 2019, GAC MOTOR and the Nigerian government are committed to building a world-class ride-hailing platform, promoting the upgrading of local public transportation, and boosting the "new travel" revolution in Africa.

As an important part of public transportation, each new CAR of GAC MOTOR is pre-installed with complete safety devices, including on-board cameras, audio and video feedback systems, which can provide 24-hour audio-visual information to the control center. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with an emergency button and a smart road intelligent system platform.

Yu Jun, executive committee member of GAC Group, director of the international business headquarters and chairman of Guangcheng International, said that the LAGRIDE project has received strong support from all parties, and after more than two years of full promotion, overcoming many unfavorable factors such as repeated epidemics, chip shortages and slow shipping, the project has finally landed successfully.

It is understood that the LAGRIDE project will also create more jobs for the local area, and platform drivers will receive vehicle subsidies from the government to obtain the final ownership of the vehicle after several years of operating the vehicle in the form of "lease-to-own".

At present, with comfort, excellent and stable performance, stylish appearance, GAC MOTOR has opened up a broad market in Nigeria, and its popularity and sales are increasing day by day, of which GS4, GS8, GS3, GA4, GN8 and other models have gained a large number of loyal fans in the local area. In addition, GAC MOTOR Nigeria operator Zoe International Group has 10 distribution outlets in the local area, while the brand SKD plant has been put into operation, becoming the first Chinese automobile brand to complete the local assembly of bulk parts.

The data shows that GAC MOTOR, which has gone abroad, has occupied a place in overseas markets. As of 2021, the cumulative number of exports will exceed 55,000 units.
