Zhao Hongwenguo was very much in favor of her son's practice, and she used part of the family's money to buy some weapons and equipment to support her son at the expense of the anti-Japanese resistance. With the support of his mother, Zhao Tong called for more and more people, and slowly the anti-Japanese volunteer army formed a scale, but it also became a thorn in the eyes of the Japanese army.
Zhao Tong and his classmates and friends usually held meetings, organized some anti-Japanese activities to save the country, and spread speeches to influence more people. The Japanese army slowly locked Zhao Dong's home through understanding, and sent people to set fire to Zhao Hongwenguo's family at night, but fortunately, the old lady found out early, so the family basically had no casualties.
This despicable act of the Japanese army not only did not frighten Zhao Hongwenguo, but made the old lady think that their behavior violated the interests of the Japanese army, so the Japanese army wanted to kill them all. In order to combat and eliminate armed forces like Zhao Dong, the Japanese army set up a suppression unit to secretly eliminate the effective anti-Japanese forces. In a battle, the volunteer army organized by Zhao Dong was ambushed and suffered heavy losses. However, with the full support of Mrs. Zhao Hongwenguo, the volunteer army gradually developed and grew, and in just over a month, the volunteer army reached thousands of people.
The size and influence of the Volunteer Army in the local area attracted the attention of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and when the Communist Party threw an olive branch at Zhao Dong, Zhao Dong politely refused, and by this time he had reached a consensus with the Kuomintang. After the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1937, the volunteer army led by Zhao Dong was reorganized by the Kuomintang into a subordinate unit of the Kuomintang.
During the War of Resistance Against Japan, Zhao Tong led the Volunteer Army to fight bravely, relying on his familiarity with the local area and relying on the terrain to carry out tug-of-war with the Japanese army. Zhao Dong fought in the front, and the old lady Zhao Hongwenguo was not idle. After the war began, the old lady had learned to shoot and was also fighting the Japanese.
The old lady often used a pistol, and it was one on one side, and others also gave Zhao Hongwenguo a nickname called the old lady with two guns. In the early stage of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Zhao Hongwenguo not only eliminated many Japanese troops, but also organized the local people to transfer to avoid persecution by the Japanese army.
Zhao Dong was killed and Zhao Hongwenguo was deceived

When Chiang Kai-shek learned of this, he added fuel to the fire and told Zhao Hongwenguo that the Communists had brutally killed her son Zhao Dong on the grounds that Zhao Tong was killed because he was unwilling to accept the adaptation. After losing his son, Zhao Hongwenguo still actively organized a team to carry out anti-Japanese combat. In the early stage of the victory against Japan, Zhao Hongwenguo was deceived by the Kuomintang, and Chiang Kai-shek gave Zhao Hongwenguo a unit to deceive Zhao Hongwenguo into fighting with our army. After the war, Zhao Hongwenguo was captured by our army and escorted to the rear.
