The founding general died of illness at the age of 55, 4 planes escorted the ashes, and 3 generals and 15 admirals greeted him

Looking back at China in the last century, modern history is full of indomitable and struggle. In the war of 1840, the great powers opened the closed door of the Great Qing Dynasty, and thus began a difficult hundred years of tenacious struggle of the Chinese people to defend the country and defend the nation.

Today, the reason why we can live in such a prosperous, peaceful and stable society and enjoy the happy life brought to us by the country is inseparable from the sacrifices made by our ancestors in the arduous years to seek the road to rejuvenation.

Especially during the long period of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, countless heroic fighters emerged, who exchanged their flesh and blood for the victory of the Chinese revolution, and since then they have also bowed to the development of New China. One of the great generals, because of his outstanding contributions to the new China, received infinite mourning at his death, and he was General Lai Chuanzhu.

First, the teenager has great ambitions

On April 3, 1910, a loud baby cry broke the silence of the countryside. A family in Lai Village, Dabu Township, Ganxian County, Jiangxi Province, ushered in a new life, and his father Lai Jiafang hoped that his son would become a talented man and a thousand miles away, so he named him Lai Pengying, which was later Lai Chuanzhu.

The Lai family has lived here for generations, and the accumulation of ancestors coupled with hard work can also be regarded as a rich family in the village. Because his father attached great importance to his children's education and his solid family situation, Lai Chuanzhu began to study from an early age.

When he was a teenager, Lai Chuanzhu came into contact with Marxism and read a large number of books on communism, and since then, simple patriotic ideas have sprouted and grown in the hearts of teenagers. After receiving revolutionary education, Lai Chuanzhu actively participated in various patriotic movements organized by students, and also used his vacation to return to his hometown to propagate revolutionary ideas to the villagers and mobilize more people to join the action of saving the country and rejuvenating the country.

In 1926, Chen Zanxian came to Ganzhou to set up a training course for workers and peasants. Lai Chuanzhu, who was deeply infected by Marxist-Leninist thought, joined the training class as soon as he learned of this news and became the first batch of students in the training class. Here, Chen Zanxian's words and deeds deeply influenced Lai Chuanzhu, and his revolutionary ideas became more firm.

But the good times did not last long, and in 1927, the counter-revolutionary movement broke out, and a large number of communist benevolent people died under the persecution of the enemy, including Chen Zanxian. For a moment, white terror pervaded the land of Shenzhou. At a time when everyone was in danger, Lai Chuanzhu's revolutionary will was not overthrown, and he even strengthened his conviction and resolutely joined the Communist Party of China in April of the same year.

Second, throw yourself into the battlefield

Soon after Lai Chuanzhu joined the party, he was wanted. In order to preserve the revolutionary fire, he urgently moved to Wan'an County and actively carried out revolutionary activities under the leadership of the Wan Branch of the COMMUNIST Party Brigade. After that, Lai Chuanzhu returned to Ganxian County to carry out new revolutionary work in his hometown, calling on more poor people to stand up against oppression.

After returning to his hometown, Lai Chuanzhu propagated revolutionary ideas to the people of his hometown while secretly preparing for an armed uprising with the help of his parents' financial support. Lai Chuanzhu personally trained nearly eighty backbone rioters, used his father's connections to purchase weapons, and made more than thirty pine cannons.

After making preparations, on February 18, 1928, Lai Chuanzhu and other responsible persons of Ganxian County of the Communist Party of China led more than 2,000 poor villagers in Dabu Township to launch an armed rebellion in Dabu from the base of Xiakeng and Kuntong Primary School. After more than an hour of fighting, the lai village and Pengwu, where the local tycoons and gentry forces were gathered, were successfully captured, and the Dabu rebellion achieved initial victory.

After that, the riot team repelled the enemy's attack twice in a row, and the whole of Ganzhou was immersed in the joy of victory. However, in March of the same year, the Kuomintang sent a company to massacre the riot team, and the Dabu riot, which lasted for more than a month, was declared a failure.

After the failure of the armed rebellion, Lai Chuanzhu and others left Dabu under the arrangement of the organization, but the relatives who remained in their hometown were mercilessly slaughtered by the enemy. Among them, Lai Chuanzhu's family was even more abused by inhumans, and eventually more than a dozen members of the family were spared and were brutally killed by the enemy.

Letting go of the grief of losing his loved ones, Lai Chuanzhu came to Jinggang mountain. After telling Member Mao about the Dabu riots, the committee members were deeply touched by Lai Chuanzhu's selfless and fearless spirit, so they left him in Jinggangshan and was responsible for his own security work.

During his time in Jinggangshan, Lai Chuanzhu studied Marxism-Leninism more deeply, further improved his revolutionary qualities, and rapidly grew into an excellent general. The command team was responsible for covering the retreat, breakthrough and crossing of the Central Red Army on several occasions.

He was a pioneer, always fighting on the front line, and even if he was hit in the chest, he held his position and never retreated. In the end, the Red Fifth Regiment, infected by Lai Chuanzhu's heroic and fearless spirit, did not fail in its mission and successfully covered the withdrawal of large troops.

Third, the high wind and bright festival

In the decades following the Long March, Lai Chuanzhong set an example by example, fought bravely, developed the armed forces, recovered the border areas, and counterattacked in central China, made outstanding military achievements, and was praised by the central leadership as a rare senior general of our army.

In 1955, China officially began the work of military rank evaluation and awarding, and Lai Chuanzhu was appointed to undertake this work. New China has just been founded, and the temporary decision coupled with the unprecedented reference, the work of military rank evaluation is very difficult.

In order to make the military rank evaluation perfect and not let the soldiers who fought in bloody battles be chilled, Lai Chuanzhu inquired from many sources, studied with an open mind, and often stayed up all night to study the evaluation criteria. In order to be able to complete the military rank evaluation work fairly and on schedule, Lai Chuanzhu only rated himself as a "lieutenant general". When reviewing the evaluation results, at the insistence of the central leadership, Lai Chuanzhu was re-evaluated as a "general" rank.
