The river bank in front of the school used to be a building abandoned land, and now a wetland park has been built, which is also a base for children's environmental science education.
Looking at the clear water of the Shuitang River and the beautiful green scenery on the shore, Zhang Junli, a resident of Huangmaoping Village who has lived in Huangmaoping Village next to the Zhongmenggou of the Shuitang River for more than 30 years, is very emotional. In the past, the Shuitang River was a stinky ditch, and there were more than 40 sewage outlets along the line, and the domestic sewage of nearby residents was directly discharged into the river. "Now I can clearly feel that the water in the Shuitang River is not smelly or dark, the water quality has been greatly improved, and I can go for a run on the riverside trail at night." Zhang Junli said.
Nanning is a city born from water, with 18 urban inland rivers crisscrossing each other. In 2015, Nanning was selected as the first batch of sponge city construction pilots in the country, and along the main line of urban work of "water management, city construction, and people", the improvement of the whole basin of the Shuitang River was listed on the agenda. In 2017, as a key people's livelihood project to tackle the problems of black and odorous water bodies in Nanning, the PPP project of the comprehensive improvement project of the Shuitang River in Nanning Was launched. Through the construction of ecological wetlands, leisure squares, sports fields, tree-lined paths, etc., the project makes the Shuitang River an "urban green lung" integrating urban leisure and sports functions.
The first step in water control is to control the source and intercept pollution. In the past, all kinds of sewage on both sides of the Shuitang River Basin were directly discharged into the river, which added a layer of haze to the urban environment and people's lives. Adhering to the concept of "source control and interception, endogenous treatment", the PPP project of the Nanning Shuitang River Comprehensive Improvement Project effectively controls pollution and improves the water quality of the Shuitang River through the transformation of mismixed junctions, rainwater and sewage diversion, and river dredging.
The sewage collected by interception is transported to the Shuitangjiang Water Purification Plant. As the social capital investor of the project, Everbright Water (Nanning) Co., Ltd., which is controlled by China Everbright Water Co., Ltd., is responsible for operating the Water Purification Plant of the Shuitang River. In the central control room of the water purification plant, Zou Yinxiao, the head of the enterprise, said, "Our sewage treatment plant adopts baf (aeration biological filter) process, which can treat organic pollutants through biofilm method, so that sewage can be purified and the effluent water quality is greatly improved." While effectively solving the problems of urban waterlogging disasters and rainwater runoff pollution, the project is also conducive to restoring the urban water ecological environment, reducing the urban heat island effect, and improving the living environment."
After nearly 4 years of treatment, a beautiful wetland park has also been built on the bank of the Shuitang River. Stone mountains, waterfalls, small bridges, and flowing water in the park, step by step. On the basis of the traditional river landscape greening, the Shuitang River Improvement Project also adds water ecological wetlands, so that the water body has the ability to purify and the river has the ability to purify itself.
Don't think that the wetland park only has a superficial "appearance", in fact, its connotation is more powerful. A wetland pond of about 20,000 square meters in the middle of the wetland park slowly purifies the water conservation here, and the submerged plants and water plants cultivated in the pond, as well as the fish and snails released, can effectively further purify the water quality. These ecological self-purification measures continuously produce clean water, so that the Shuitang River has restored its "breathing" function, full of vitality and vitality.
"This project will achieve the remediation goal at one time and avoid duplicate construction, which will not only provide a good foundation for the further development of the economic development zone (Nahong area), Tinghong area, Dashatian area and Yudong area, but also further improve the image of Nanning City and promote the economic and social development of Nanning City."
