A spy with a five-fold identity, a pretender Ming Lou prototype, and died of mental disorder in his later years

In the TV series "The Pretender", Jin Dong played the role of Ming Lou, his identity is very complicated, ostensibly deputy director of the Special Committee of the Wang puppet government, and he is also the colonel of the Shanghai Intelligence Section of the Kuomintang Military Command, and his real identity is the head of the Shanghai Intelligence Group of our party, such a person with a complicated identity, but it is not imagined by the screenwriter, fabricated out of thin air, russian literary critic Chernyshevsky has such a sentence, art comes from life, but it is higher than life. The foundation of any art comes from life, and the character modeling of Ming Lou also has an archetype, he is Yuan Shu, who has a five-fold identity.

Early life experiences influenced Yuan Shu's life

Yuan Shu's ancestral home was Puchun, Hubei Province, Yuan Shu's family was also a scholar in his early years, and his father Yuan Xiaolan was a reader, born in Zenggongsheng, but he had no interest in the imperial examination, threw himself into the revolutionary struggle, successively participated in movements such as the protection of Yuan Shu, and was wanted several times.

Yuan Shu therefore followed his mother to live, when he was young, Yuan Shu could still rely on his mother's pawn and his mother's family to support his livelihood, and when he was 8 years old, Yuan Shu's grandfather died, Yuan Shu's life began to be difficult, yuan Shu followed his mother Jia Renhui to the home of Jia Xiuwen, the third sister in Shanghai. Yuan Shu's uncle Dong Kunying, who once served as the temporary senate chairman and congressman of Hubei Province, was not concerned about Yuan Shu and his mother, and Yuan Shu went to school with his cousins and brothers here, a rare happy time.

After Yuan Xiaolan had a job, a stable salary, he should have taken on family responsibilities, but he had a new love, abandoning Yuan Shu and his mother, Jia Renhui did not want to live with her sister's family all the time, and a woman with her child lived alone in Shanghai.

Jia Renhui also had no source of livelihood, so he could only do needlework and teach workers to read and write, and barely made ends meet, while Yuan Shu also dropped out of school and did a lot of dirty work.

Yuan Shu later entered the printing house as an apprentice,

Here he was fortunate to see the power of books and feel the desire to go to school

He approached his father for help, but there was nothing he could do about it. Yuan Shu once fainted from hunger, but this time he met Yuan Shaoxian, a well-wisher, who saw him pitifully and sent him to middle school, where Yuan Shu saw the "May Thirtieth Movement" in middle school, and he showed his ability for the first time as a student representative.

After graduating from middle school, Yuan Shu went to society, and at that time, when Hu Baoyi, the commander of the Jiangnan Special Movement Army of the National Revolutionary Army, was recruiting troops in Shanghai, Yuan Shu surrendered to his disciples, and Yuan Shu had a military career.

In 1928, Yuan Shu left the army and went to Shanghai, where he began his activities in the literary and art circles, and the following year, he traveled east to Japan to study journalism and read many progressive books. After returning to China, he began to be active in the press, founding the weekly newspaper "Literature and Art News", in 1931, he took the initiative to join our party, Pan Hannian asked Yuan Shu to participate in our party's intelligence work.

Multiple identities do not change the original intention

After that, yuan shu relied on his early experience in social chaos, and in 4 years, he broke into the intelligence agent system of Wu Xingya of the Kuomintang and served as a non-staff intelligence officer.

Later, according to his identity as a journalist, he met the consulate official Eiichi Iwai, who was actually an intelligence officer and collected intelligence in China. Yuan Shuyin studied, fluent in Japanese, and Iwai Eiichi hit it off one by one, using the name of "grabbing the news" to exchange information with Iwai Hideichi, Iwai Eiichi returned 200 yuan to Yuan Shu, and Yuan Shu became an intelligence officer hired by the Japanese consulate.

At this time, Yuan Shu already had a triple identity, and also had contacts with the people in the gang, and he was a brother with hang shiwu, the leader of the Qing Gang, and also knew Du Yuesheng.

But he is still "white-skinned and red-hearted" and does not change his original intention.

Wu Xingya

From 1931 to 1935, Yuan Shu's work was very smooth, but by 1935, the underground organization of our Party in Shanghai was destroyed, and Yuan Shu twice failed to meet his contact, Wang Zichun, at the agreed time and place, because Wang Zichun had been transferred to the Soviet Union.

Because of the loss of contact with the organization, Yuan Shu found Xia Yan to help, but Xia Yan also had no organizational relationship with the CCP Special Branch, Yuan Shu asked Xia Yan to help because of the urgent situation, Xia Yan gave the letter to Cai Shuhou, Cai Shuhou had already arrived at the Third International Far East Intelligence Bureau at this time, and Yuan Shu was therefore transferred to the Far East Intelligence Bureau.

The Far East Intelligence Bureau is an organization of the Communist International, and has no affiliation with the CCP intelligence organization, Yuan Shu and Cai Shuhou both thought that they had a relationship with the organization, but it was not an organization, and both of them encountered the same dilemma later, becoming "non-party personages", due to the chaos of the situation, coupled with the high loyalty required by the hidden front, there was no time to prove the identity of the two, the two could only be suspected first, but still used. Yuan Shu then encountered something that complicated the problem, and he was arrested.

After Yuan Shu was arrested, he was exposed to work for our party and for the Far East Intelligence Bureau, but because Yuan Shu had this layer of identity in the Wu Xingya system, Dai Kasa and Wu Xingya both felt that Yuan Shu could be collected, and Yuan Shu was not sentenced to death, and Yuan Shu did not defect, but instead took a very smooth way to save himself.

Yuan Shu wrote something to the effect of the following: "I don't know the Weixi people, nor do I know Lu Haifang, but I have engaged in secret work. At present, the problem between China and Japan is the question of anti-Japanese resistance, and I hope that Mr. Jiang will lead the people of the whole country to resist Japan. Yuan Shu's performance after his arrest laid the groundwork for him in the future.

Yuan Shu actually "served his sentence" less than a year later, and the military commander asked him to go to Chen Lifu, but Yuan Shu knew very well that if he went, he would betray the revolution.

He still hopes to find an organization and continue to work.

After Yuan Shu found the organization, due to his experience of arrest, he could not get an appointment, yuan Shu set off to study in Japan, and did not have enough time to return to Shanghai for a year, because it was already April 1937, and Sino-Japanese relations began to be tense. Yuan Shu first lived idly under Du Yuesheng's door, and after careful consideration by Pan Hannian, he asked Yuan Shu to resume intelligence work.

After the smoke of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yuan Shu became the object of military unification and the intelligence organization of the Japanese army, and Yuan Shu was like walking a tightrope and has been wandering among several parties; with the consent of Pan Hannian, Yuan Shu became a "traitor" and infiltrated into the enemy to transmit intelligence, and then Yuan Shu took up the post of deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Wang Pseudo Central Committee, where Yuan Shu used his power to pass on a lot of intelligence to our side and provide a lot of convenience for the underground communication line.

Later life experiences

After the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan, Yuan Shu still chose to return to the revolutionary ranks.

After the founding of new China, Yuan Shu was transferred to Beijing to work in the State Intelligence Administration. In 1955, the "Pan Hannian Case" occurred, Yuan Shu was also implicated, and it was not until 1980 that he was released, and in 1982, Pan Hannian was rehabilitated and Yuan Shu was also acquitted.

In 1987, Yuan Shu was seriously ill and mentally disturbed, and later died in Beijing, and his ashes were placed in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.

Yuan Shu's life is very complicated, but it is also very simple,

The identity is complex, but the heart of the struggle for the revolutionary cause is simple.
