After the Kuomintang regime came to power in the sixteenth year of the Republic of China (1927 in the Gregorian calendar), Yuan Xiaolan was regarded as a Kuomintang elder and was able to serve as an official in the Nationalist government because of his experience in the League. Judging from this resume, it seems that Yuan Shu belongs to the second generation of officials with a good background. But in fact, in the early years of the Republic of China, Yuan Xiaolan abandoned Yuan Shu and his mother because of the relationship between another new huan and let them fend for themselves. This led to Yuan Shu coming into contact with the poor group at a very young age and personally experiencing a poor life. And it has produced noble ideals that change society.

Yuan Shu was confused and fantasized about literature to save the country—he founded a journal to expound and disseminate progressive ideas. Yuan Shu's behavior attracted the attention of the Central Special Branch. The Central Special Branch believed that Yuan Shu had a sense of progress, so he developed Yuan Shu to participate in the Central Special Branch, so Yuan Shu had the first and most important identity in his life, an identity that carried out his life - that is, an agent of the revolutionary camp.
Appointed by the Central Special Branch, Yuan Shu successfully entered the Central Unification through his social connections (Yuan Shu's cousin served in the Shanghai Garrison Headquarters) in the 20 years of the Republic of China – this is Yuan Shu's second identity. In the twenty-second year of the Republic of China, Yuan Shu made contact with the Japanese Eiichi Iwai at a press conference held by the Nationalist Government in Nanjing. Yuan Shu had a background in Japan before, so he was valued by Iwai Eiichi, who provided the latter with some information on the military expenditure of the Kuomintang government, thus winning Iwai Eiichi's trust. As a result, Yuan Shu had his third identity.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Kuomintang regime reorganized its intelligence apparatus, and the Military Command Bureau urgently needed talents. As for Yuan Shu's situation, Dai Kasa, the head of the Military Command Bureau, had already heard about it, so Dai Kasa suggested that Yuan Shu serve the military command, and with the permission of Yan'an, Yuan Shu successfully entered the military command and had his fourth identity. In the twenty-sixth year of the Republic of China, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out. Because the gap between the national strength of China and Japan is so large, the war will take about half a year, and Beiping, Nanjing, Shanghai, Taiyuan and other cities have fallen into the hands of the enemy one after another. The Green Gang in Shanghai became the object of contention between the Kuomintang, the Yan'an side, and the Japanese—the Kuomintang and the Communist Party needed to use the power of the Green Gang to operate in Shanghai, and the Japanese needed to use the Green Gang as an agent to rule Shanghai.
In order to understand the movements of the Qing Gang, under the assignment of Yan'an, Yuan Shu broke into the Qing Gang and had his fifth identity.
