Dong Jianmin, a native of Jinghai, Hebei Province, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, under the guidance of his uncle Dong Qiusi, in 1939, 16-year-old Dong Jianmin and his two sisters crossed the hainan to join the revolution, on the way to Yan'an, the eldest sister Dong Qingmin, because of seasickness and physical discomfort, died before they arrived in Guiyang.
After arriving in Yan'an, the two sisters Dong Zhongmin and Dong Jianmin entered the Shaanxi North Public School to study, because of their outstanding performance, when Dong Jianmin was 17 years old, he was already an excellent party member.
In 1941, the 18-year-old Dong Jianmin and his sister Dong Zhongmin were transferred to the Confidential Section as a confidential officer, because of the particularity of the work, until entering the Confidential Section, Dong Jianmin's second sister, did not know that Dong Jianmin was already a party member.
While working in the confidential section, Dong Jianmin also found his own love, and fell in love with his comrade-in-arms Zhong Qi, who also worked in the confidential section, and the two married in 1942, and the witness was Li Kenong, who was then the deputy director of the Central Social Security Department.

The reason for choosing Dong Jianmin and his wife is very simple: First, the couple has extremely high consciousness and strong ability, and second, Zhong Qi and Dong Jianmin's family of three is conducive to doing cover work.
Although the northeast at that time was in chaos and various forces were complex and dangerous, Zhong Qi and Dong Jianmin still firmly accepted this task for the victory of the revolution.
In 1946, Dong Jianmin and his wife took their son, after putting on makeup, carrying a notification code, set off from Yan'an to Shandong, and then, by boat in Yantai, took the Yellow Sea to North Korea, and then transferred from Korea to Dalian and went to the northeast.
In order to protect the confidential documents they carried and in order not to let more comrades be implicated, Dong Jianmin and Zhong Qi resolutely decided to sacrifice themselves, keep the confidential documents on their bodies, hold their sons, and jump into the rolling sea.
At the time of the sacrifice, Dong Jianmin was only 23 years old, and her child was only 2 years old, after Dong Jianmin's sacrifice, because she had not been able to find the body, her family used the relics to build a crown tomb for Dong Jianmin so that future generations could worship.
