After the great secret agent Zheng Jiemin fled to Taiwan, he was suspected by Chiang Kai-shek because of the Taiwan independence case and was stimulated to die suddenly at home

On March 17, 1946, Dai Kasa, the head of the Kuomintang secret service, fell to his death near Nanjing due to a plane crash. Just when everyone thought that Mao Renfeng, deputy director of the Military Unification Bureau, who had been heavily used by Dai Kasa, was going to succeed him as director of the bureau, Chiang Kai-shek sent a telegram ordering Zheng Jiemin, a representative of the Military Investigation Office, who was in "peace talks" in Beiping, to immediately return to Chongqing to take over the post of director of the Military Unification Bureau.

Zheng Jiemin graduated from the second phase of the Whampoa Military Academy and was bent on leading troops to battle like other Whampoa classmates, but Chiang Kai-shek single-mindedly valued his espionage ability. When Chiang Kai-shek was dealing with the warlords of Liangguang and the Nineteenth Route Army, Zheng Jiemin's intelligence and counter-offensive work were praised by chiang kai-shek.

Within the military command, Chiang Kai-shek's trust in him was on par with dai kasa, but in terms of use it was slightly different from that of dai kasa.

Cheng Jiemin had gone to Germany and Italy to investigate fascist secret service organizations, and was also favored by senior British generals for accurately predicting that Singapore would not be able to hold. Therefore, Chiang Kai-shek often asked him to do some international liaison work, which is one of the reasons why he appeared in the Military Investigation Office.

In chiang kai-shek's clique, many people complimented Zheng Jiemin as a "military strategist" and "military theorist" with "political brains" and "scientific training," but in fact he was an out-and-out secret agent leader. He was from Hainan Island, but he looked like a burly northerner, with a dark face with a smile all day. He often liked to wear a straight military uniform full of medals, full of spirit, and at first glance, he looked like a regular officer.

In fact, Zheng Jiemin was originally the second-in-command of the military command in the Dai Kasa era. The predecessor of the military command was the Special Branch of the Revival Society,

Chiang Kai-shek designated Dai Kasa of the Huangpu Phase VI as the director, and Zheng Jiemin of the Huangpu Phase II as the deputy director.

Zheng Jiemin was not willing to be subordinated to Dai Kasa and rarely paid attention to the affairs of the secret service. In the Secret Service, Zheng Jiemin was valued by Chiang Kai-shek for presiding over the assassination of Zhang Jingyao in Beiping with the intention of surrendering to Japan, and was sent by the old Chiang Kai-shek to Germany and Italy to study and investigate the fascist rule mode, and after returning to China, he was promoted to the chief of the fifth division of the second department of the General Staff Headquarters.

After the July 7 Incident, although Chiang Kai-shek ostensibly accepted the CCP's proposition of uniting to resist Japan in unison, he secretly more actively carried out conspiracy activities against communism and communism. To this end, he proposed to add a huge secret service organ, hand over the Investigation and Statistics Bureau of the Military Commission, which was originally headed by Chen Lifu, to Dai Kasa, and set up a similar investigation and statistics bureau within the Central Party Department to strengthen his anti-communist and anti-people secret service forces.

Thus began the era of military commander Dai Kasa. At first, although Chiang Kai-shek intended to promote Dai Kasa, he was distressed by his lack of seniority, so he had to appoint He Yao, the director of the first department of his attendant room, as the director of the bureau, and Dai as the deputy director to bear the actual responsibility. However, the arrangement for Zheng Jiemin became a problem, and Jiang did not let Zheng leave this secret service organization, and it was inconvenient to set up two deputy bureau chiefs, and finally decided to ask Zheng to concurrently serve as the chief secretary of the Military Command Bureau to assist Dai Kasa in his work.

Before, in the secret service, the good villain was still a deputy director, and when he arrived at the Military Command Bureau, he did not even have a deputy director, and Zheng Jiemin was very unhappy about this, so he rarely went to the office. Dai Kasa also had no way to take Zheng Jiemin, so he set up another secretary within the military command to manage the internal secret service. Later, fearing that Chiang Kai-shek would not be able to explain his questions, he cancelled the secretary-general and replaced it with an acting chief secretary, and Dai's close confidant, Mao Renfeng, took up this post.

Until Dai Kasa's death, Zheng Jiemin's chief secretary was represented by Mao Renfeng.

Mao Ren Feng

After finally taking office as the head of the Military Command, Zheng Jiemin did not seem to be much excited, and after taking office in Chongqing, he hurried back to Beiping. The only thing Zheng Jiemin did in Chongqing was to recommend Tang Zhong to Chiang Kai-shek to preside over military unification work on his behalf, which was obviously to restrict Mao Renfeng. In addition, he also met in Chongqing with Shen Drunk, who had returned from collecting Dai's body in Nanjing.

When he heard that Dai's body had been washed away by heavy rain for three days on the mountain in Jiangning County near Nanjing, he couldn't help but feel a little sad and said very angrily: "

What a shame! Our organization not only spread throughout the country, but also distributed all over the world, but a leader died near Nanjing for three days before he found out, how to say it! This makes others know that it is a big joke!

Chiang Kai-shek soon tore off the pretense of peace and launched a full-scale civil war, and Zheng Jiemin's work in Beiping came to an end. At this time, the Military Command Bureau had been reorganized into the Secrecy Bureau, and Zheng Jiemin was still the director. For this disguised secret service agency, Zheng Jiemin was unusually enthusiastic, and once he changed the style of the Dai Kasa era that was not constrained by the establishment and funding, all aspects had to be greatly reduced. However, no matter how Zheng Jiemin reformed, it could not prevent the corruption and collapse of the Kuomintang.

In October 1949, on the eve of the liberation of Guangzhou, Zheng Jiemin sent his family from Guangzhou to Taiwan. When he fled to Taiwan, Zheng Jiemin took advantage of all kinds of privileges to take everything he could bring. But there was no way to bring the house, and his wife entrusted someone to sell it at a low price, but no one wanted it. When Zheng sent his wife on the plane, he also said in a calm tone in front of the agents who sent him off

"You go to Taiwan for the winter, and you can come back as soon as the flowers in the yard bloom next year." ”

But within a few days, Zheng Jiemin reluctantly abandoned the bungalow and fled the mainland.

Zheng Jiemin's means of embezzling money are quite "clever". He himself always pretended to be "incorruptible", and no one under his subordinates dared to directly bribe him. In fact, he is a corrupt person, but he does not handle it himself, but his wife Ke Shufen comes forward. He pretended to be afraid of his wife to the extreme, trying to convince people that he could not help her; in case something happened, he could pretend not to know anything and be irresponsible.

Therefore, when others say to his face that he is afraid of his wife, he always admits it with a smile on his face, and sometimes pretends to be ridiculous: "Afraid of his wife has benefits and can save trouble." Although he played tricks on this issue, the clear-eyed people were still very clear. He comes home every day and sees that things in the house are getting more and more day by day, and the house is newly built, and he will not understand where this came from?

In October 1940, Zheng Jiemin transferred from Hong Kong to the United States, secretly attended the Joint Chiefs of Staff, reported on the Chinese mainland situation, and tried to make the United States decide to continue to implement military assistance to China; in November, he went to Hong Kong. In early 1950, Zheng Jiemin also went to Taiwan.

Shortly after arriving in Taiwan, Zheng Jiemin was appointed "deputy chief of staff" and "director of the Mainland Work Office," and then transferred to the director of the second group of the Kuomintang Central Committee.

In 1954, the Secrecy Bureau was again reorganized into the Security Bureau, and Cheng Jiemin remained its director. After assuming the post of director of the "Security Bureau," Mr. Cheng held several talks with senior U.S. officials on how to strengthen intelligence efforts on the mainland. Zheng Jiemin's elegant temperament and humorous conversation made the US side very good, thinking that he had vision and insight, which was different from the gloomy and vicious agents in the past.

But Zheng Jiemin, who arrived in Taiwan, also understood that Chiang Kai-shek's focus was on ensuring a smooth succession from Chiang Ching-kuo, and although he was in charge of the Kuomintang's intelligence agencies, he always acted cautiously and did not dare to trespass in the slightest.

Especially when Chiang Kai-shek deliberately handed over the intelligence system to Chiang Ching-kuo, Zheng Jiemin was even more cautious, and only the old Chiang Kai-shek was in charge of everything.

Even so, Zheng Jiemin still could not escape Chiang Kai-shek's doubts. Once, Zheng Jiemin visited the United States to discuss the exchange of intelligence with the US intelligence services. Visiting,

The FBI gave Mr. Cheng $10 million, hoping he would strengthen cooperation with the Americans.

Zheng Jiemin insisted on not collecting it, but the Americans were resolute in their attitude and did not accept money and would not let anyone leave. In desperation, Zheng Jiemin had to carry the $10 million check back to Taiwan.

After returning to Taiwan, Zheng Jiemin immediately reported to Chiang Kai-shek and handed over a check for $10 million to Chiang Kai-shek. However, Chiang Kai-shek was suspicious by nature,

Although Zheng Jiemin paid the money, he still suspected that he and the US side must have other things that he had not said in private, so he began to be wary and alienated from Zheng Jiemin

Zheng Jiemin was also aware of Chiang Kai-shek's personality and knew that he was in trouble, so he applied for a long-term leave on the grounds that he needed to recuperate due to aggravated heart disease. He proposed that the work of the "Security Bureau" be put in charge by its deputy Chen Daqing. Chen Daqing had already defected to Chiang Ching-kuo and became a member of the "princeling party", but Chiang Kai-shek could not ask for it and readily agreed. Chiang Kai-shek saw that Zheng Jiemin was so "interesting" and was happy to save face for Zheng Jiemin and retained his position as director of the bureau.

Chen Daqing

In 1959, Zheng Jiemin, who had been snubbed for a long time and was recuperating at home, was suddenly summoned by Chiang Kai-shek. At this time, Chiang Kai-shek encountered a thorny problem.

At that time, there was a Kaohsiung man named Huang Yanghui, a fanatic advocating Taiwan's independence, who sneaked into Taiwan from Tokyo, Japan, three years ago, secretly formed the "Taiwan Republican Party", and developed the organization under the slogan of "Taiwan is the Taiwan of Taiwanese" to win over young people. In less than three years, the membership of the "Taiwan Republican Party" has grown to more than 1,000.

Chiang Kai-shek absolutely does not tolerate those who pursue Taiwan independence, but the reason why Huang Yanghui dared to set up an organization in Taiwan and vigorously pursue Taiwan independence is because there is American support behind him. The Americans, too, could not be offended by chiang kai-shek. In addition to the entanglement, he thought of Zheng Jiemin, who was idle because of his relationship with the Americans

That's when it was decided to summon him. The task given to Zheng Jiemin by Chiang Kai-shek was to destroy the so-called "Taiwan Republican Party" in one fell swoop and arrest huang Yanghui, the leading element.

Zheng Jiemin knew that this was a hot potato, and originally wanted to push it on Chen Daqing, but Old Jiang personally ordered the general, and he had no choice but to accept the task hard. In the end, it was the veteran who came out, and Zheng Jiemin quickly got the full list of personnel of the "Taiwan Republican Party" organization. On August 12, 1959, Zheng Jiemin directed the "Security Bureau" to arrest all 30 key members of the "Taiwan Republican Party" in Kaohsiung.

During this arrest operation, Huang Yanghui resisted arrest with a gun and was injured by Security Agency agents. The injured Huang Yanghui was taken to the hospital for treatment and placed in a detention center. Zheng Jiemin also completed the task assigned by Chiang Kai-shek very well, and thought that he could retreat with his whole body, but the accident still happened.

Huang Yanghui was interrogated while undergoing treatment in the detention center. On November 30, 1959, US personnel visited the detention center in the name of humanitarianism, and then on the grounds that Huang Yanghui was seriously injured and could not be properly treated in the detention center, he coaxed and deceived Huang Yanghui to forcibly take him away, and then disappeared.

After the great secret agent Zheng Jiemin fled to Taiwan, he was suspected by Chiang Kai-shek because of the Taiwan independence case and was stimulated to die suddenly at home

When the news reached Chiang Kai-shek, the old Chiang kai-shek was extremely angry, and thinking about the previous $10 million check, he suspected that Zheng Jiemin was the result of collusion with the Americans and adultery. On December 10, Chiang Kai-shek went south to inspect and specially summoned Zheng Jiemin to accompany him.

When he arrived in Taichung, Chiang Kai-shek was very vocal, scolded Zheng Jiemin with a bloody head, bluntly suspected that Zheng Jiemin had been bribed by the Americans, and ordered him to arrest Huang Yanghui within three days.

Zheng Jiemin, who was not in good health, was stimulated by this, suffered a heart attack, and died at home in Taipei at 2:00 a.m. on December 11, 1959, at the age of 62.

Only one day had passed since he was scolded by Chiang Kai-shek, and the task that old Chiang had given him to solve the case in the early three days would never be completed.

It is said that Zheng Jiemin knew very well that Huang Yanghui was protected by the Americans, and even knew where he was hiding, but he did not dare to risk violating the Americans, so he could not go to arrest.

More than ten days after Zheng Jiemin's death, a Hong Kong newspaper suddenly reported that Zheng Jiemin did not die of a heart attack, but was ineffective in dealing with the Taiwan independence organization, and Chiang Kai-shek suspected that he was serving the Americans, so he committed suicide. Of course, such a statement does not have much evidence, and no one knows whether Zheng Jiemin died of a heart attack or committed suicide. Instead, as soon as Zheng Jiemin died, the Americans felt that the situation was serious, and in the name of participating in the Christmas ball, they sent Huang Yanghui to the home of a celebrity and informed the "Security Bureau". On Christmas Eve, Huang Yanghui was arrested again, and Zheng Jiemin's bones were not cold.
