The situation is so tense that one cannot help but wonder what role the Taiwan Strait will play in the event that one day the two sides of the Taiwan Strait really have to go to war.
Taiwan's famous mouth mentioned a question about the Taiwan Strait in the program, and bluntly said that the Taiwan Strait is like a ditch, and the People's Liberation Army stepped over it with one foot.
What kind of small moves has Taiwan made recently? Is what this famous mouth said true?
Exercises on the part of Taiwan
According to a relevant report on the Taiwan Strait Network, Taiwan's defense department carried out an 8-day-7-night non-stop computer war game deduction "Han Kuang 40".
The "Han Kuang-40" exercise was a computer-aided command post exercise, and to put it bluntly, it was actually a simulated military exercise on a computer to deduce what might happen.
Taiwan has also conducted such exercises before, but this time it has taken longer than before, and according to information from Taiwan's military's operations and planning department, this time the military drill is still aimed at command posts above the brigade level.
It stands to reason that there should be few people paying attention to such a military push without any substantive action, after all, we are no stranger to such a small action.
However, the "Han Kuang 40" exercise was not only a deduction and prediction of "changing from evolution to warfare," but also did not shy away from it, and directly pointed the spearhead at the mainland.
The reason why the "Han Kuang-40" exercise was the longest in history was largely due to the fact that the military push included a rehearsal of the so-called mainland "surprise" scenario on May 20, during the handover of Taiwan's leadership.
Relevant personnel of the Taiwan authorities said that this was to prevent the People's Liberation Army from suddenly launching a "Trojan horse" raid on Taiwan, but such a statement was quickly ridiculed by the Taiwanese people.
Such a statement is completely a story fabricated by the Taiwan authorities themselves, and the Taiwan authorities are still constantly hyping it up even though public opinion does not buy it.
The most important reason is that the United States has also sent an observation team to the "Han Kuang-40" exercise, and not only reservists, but even one-year compulsory recruits have also been put into it.
Many media people on the island believe that the "Han Kuang-40" exercise was actually the idea of the Americans, and that they just want Taiwan's armed forces to hold back the PLA, and the Taiwan authorities do not care at all whether such an act will harm the lives and property of the Taiwan people.
In addition to exercises such as the "Han Kuang No. 40," the Taiwan side also conducted armed military exercises, but their exercises are no different from those of children in our eyes.
In the public footage, we can see that when the Taiwanese army rushed to the beach, they were holding rifles in their hands.
They conducted simulated shooting training against the sea, and some "officers" also participated in the exercise, even pulling out pistols and shooting at the sea.
Such behavior is simply ridiculous, but the soldiers participating in the exercise still said in an interview with the "United News Network" that running on the beach is not easy.
It seems to be very hard-working, but the operation is as fierce as a tiger, and the record is nothing, such a rifle shooting, even the level of World War II is more than that.
Not to mention the powerful Chinese navy now, the landing force's powerful shipborne firepower and aerial firepower will not give them a chance to shoot rifles at all, even a few decades ago, the combat methods in Taiwan's military exercises were very backward.
Taiwan always likes to engage in some kind of anti-landing exercises, but every time it is thunder and rain, and it constantly hypes up before and during the exercises, and in fact it has no strength at all.
They would sometimes shoot at the sea with tanks on the beach, which was slightly better than shooting with rifles, but in essence there was not much difference, they were just eggs hitting stones.
They thought that the Taiwan Strait was a trench and a chasm that the mainland could hardly cross, and this may have been the case many years ago, but this is no longer what it used to be, and the Taiwan Strait is no longer worth mentioning in front of the PLA.
Taiwan Strait
Historically, the Taiwan Strait has been an important channel for cross-strait exchanges, as early as hundreds of years ago or even thousands of years ago, many immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong regions passed through here to Taiwan.
Taiwan's development and construction has a lot to do with these migrants, who have brought the culture and technology of the mainland to Taiwan, and trade and exchanges between the two sides of the strait have become more and more frequent.
Historically, Taiwan has always been our territory, but because it is separated by the strait, there was a slight "time difference" in the exchanges between the two sides of the strait when the maritime equipment was not developed.
However, with the development of the economy, the Taiwan Strait has also changed from a "moat" with a certain degree of difficulty to crossing before, to one of the busiest sea routes in the world.
The narrowest point of the Taiwan Strait is only 130 kilometers, and even the widest point between Dongshan Island in Fujian Province and Eluanbi in the southern tip of Taiwan is only 260 kilometers.
Not only is it one of the busiest sea routes, with a large number of fishing and commercial vessels passing through each year, but there are also many islands and a very tortuous coastline.
On top of that, it is also rich in aquatic resources, so many fishermen along China's coast have to go to the Taiwan Strait to fish.
The two sides of the strait have very close fishing cooperation and are inextricably linked to the aquatic resources of the Taiwan Strait, as well as offshore oil and gas.
Because of history and some political reasons, the Taiwan issue is now one of the most sensitive issues between the two sides of the strait, and as far as Taiwan is concerned, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is aggravating the tension between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has always had close ties with the United States, and the "Taiwan independence" they want to seek is undoubtedly to push the Taiwan people into the abyss.
But even so, under the interference of the United States, the DPP has always firmly believed that the PLA does not have the ability to directly cross the Taiwan Strait and go straight to Taiwan Island.
In this regard, Li Zhengjie, a famous Taiwanese and retired general, shattered the illusions of the DPP and said that the Taiwan Strait can be crossed by the PLA with one foot.
Li Zhengjie himself said: The mainland's "occupation" of Taiwan is not purely military force, and the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair.
In the past, we used the Taiwan Strait as a "natural moat," but with the current state of the PLA's weapons, we can fight across the island, just like we have crossed a ditch, and we can cross it with one "kick."
This is not the first time that Li Zhengjie has made such remarks, and the Taiwan authorities always regard the Taiwan people as fools, as if under their hoodwin, the people really do not know anything.
Just a few days ago, Li Zhengjie also asked the Taiwan authorities not to be too excited, when Taiwan's China Times News Network issued a report saying that the United States passed the "Indo-Pacific Security Supplementary Appropriations Act", of which $1.9 billion was given to Taiwan.
At that time, the Taiwan authorities were very excited about this, but Li Zhengjie directly exposed it, saying that the United States was "washing the arms" and eliminating some expired and useless weapons, but it still had to make a profit.
The United States has lent money to the Taiwan authorities and asked them to use the money to buy weapons that have already been eliminated, and the United States has not only disposed of these waste things, but has also been able to make a fortune in oil and water.
Conniving at and supporting "Taiwan independence" is bound to set oneself on fire
Many Taiwanese people, including Li Zhengjie, some are just concerned about current affairs, some are retired generals, and some are in the entertainment industry, in fact, they can see the current situation clearly.
It is true that there was a time in history when our army did not have the ability to fight across the sea, and the Taiwan Strait at that time was tantamount to a moat for us.
At that time, even simple ferries crossing the Taiwan Strait were difficult, and fishermen had to worry about natural disasters as well as man-made disasters when they went out to fish.
However, time has passed, and in the past few decades, our People's Liberation Army (PLA) has long since changed from what it used to be, and the PLA has continued to grow stronger, which has also made the Taiwan Strait "gradually smaller".
Li Zhengjie said that the PLA already has the strength to fight across the island, and he is not alarmist, because the PLA fighter plane was less than 30 nautical miles away from Tamsui on 27 July, and this is the closest PLA fighter plane to Taiwan in the position announced by the Taiwan military.
"The truth is only within the range of artillery." This sentence is not groundless, just like what Li Zhengjie said, Taiwan has long been within the range of the PLA.
Moreover, the Taiwan issue has always been China's internal affair, and we can directly launch an attack on Taiwan without any declaration of war.
However, war is not what we want, so we are not unable to fight but unwilling to fight, and the mainland is fully capable of fighting against access and denial of war.
J-16 alone, each of which can carry nearly 10 tons of bombs, in this case, the key point is not whether it can win, but whether it wants to fight or not.
When the Ministry of National Defense held a regular news conference, Senior Colonel Wu Qian, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, responded to reporters' questions on hot issues between the two sides of the strait.
On the Taiwan side, the "Han Kuang No. 40" can only be a dead end no matter how it is deduced, and they want to "seek independence by force," but there is only one outcome, that is, failure.
Foreign media, especially some mainstream media in the United States, are always hyping up the threat of Chinese mainland, Taiwan is China's territory, and it is not their turn to interfere in our internal affairs.
With regard to how to avoid misfire between the two sides of the strait, Wu Qian stressed that as long as "Taiwan independence" is not pursued, there is no need to be worried. The United States and Taiwan continue to collude and provoke, and the Ministry of National Defense responded: Conniving at and supporting "Taiwan independence" will inevitably lead to burn and eat the bitter fruit.
