One of the most shocking is a series of cases in which he plotted to assassinate our Party leaders, one of which was specifically aimed at the mayor of Shanghai, Chen Yi.
On May 27, 1949, Shanghai, known as the "City that Never Sleeps", ushered in the liberation, which was a heavy blow to Chiang Kai-shek, and he always held a grudge. The Chiang clique, which was entrenched in Taiwan, gave an order to Mao Renfeng, the head of the "Secrecy Bureau," to assassinate Chen Yi at all costs. Suddenly, 28 Taiwanese agents infiltrated Shanghai through Mao Renfeng's meticulous arrangements and began a covert operation.
On the one hand, they caused social panic through despicable means such as car crashes and shootings, and on the other hand, they set up "workstations" to cover the operation. One day, Chen Yi was working on his desk, he received a letter, he just unsealed, he dropped a bullet, Chen Yi immediately realized that this is a threatening letter, he immediately contemptuously threw the letter and bullet into the garbage basket and said: Will I Chen Yi be intimidated by this "peanut rice"?
The Shanghai Ministry of Public Security immediately became vigilant and accelerated the operation to solve the case. When the armed agents were being screened, they successively identified a contact point and a female agent dressed as a popsicle seller. After the interrogation, it was learned that the 28 agents who had been carefully "dressed" were hiding places. Before they could take official action, they were all arrested.
The first defeat did not make Chiang Kai-shek dead-hearted, and he sent a second group of spies to continue the so-called "Firefly Operation". This time they not only brought guns and radios, but also highly harmful weapons such as high-energy explosives and highly toxic cyanide.
This time, there was already a specific implementation plan: one was to use the Yue opera actor network of the secret agent Zhao Ziqiang's girlfriend to find a female secretary who could contact Chen Yi; the other was to contact the remnants of the soldiers to cooperate with the action. However, due to the high vigilance of the female secretary, the first line was immediately broken, and our public security department, on the basis of the existing information, quickly grasped the whereabouts of the rest of the enemy's special agents, and sent investigators to penetrate into the enemy's interior.
When the news reached Chiang Kai-shek's ears, he cursed Mao Renfeng in exasperation and anger, and deliberately sought out a person, Liu Quande, saying that only if he went, he could complete the task.
This trick is very vicious, Liu Quande's experience is very special, he was once a soldier in the Red Army, but in the end did not resist the temptation, in 1935 in Wuchang on a mission, Liu Quande was arrested by the Kuomintang, immediately defected. The Kuomintang took a fancy to his arrogance and ferocity, and specially sent him for special training, and trained him with extremely strong assassination skills.
In June, Liu Quande's identity was seized by the People's Liberation Army, but after he was imprisoned, he was stabbed twice, saying that he would wear the guilt and make meritorious deeds, and our army tolerated and released him. However, Liu Quande ran toward Taiwan when he went out, and as soon as he arrived in Taiwan on his front foot, he was "pointed out" by Chiang Kai-shek to assassinate Mayor Chen Yi on the back foot, and at the same time, he was also asked to contact the agents hiding in Shanghai to prepare for the realization of Chiang Kai-shek's dream of "counter-offensive".
Before leaving, Mao Renfeng promised: After returning to Taiwan, he will be rewarded with a thousand taels of gold.
In this way, Liu Quande and the other three people were on the road. After arriving in Zhoushan, he asked the other two people to take a boat to Wusongkou first, leaving them to observe, and if it was safe to go along this road, but the two "advancers" were just about to land when they exposed their identities and were detained. Liu Quande himself disguised himself as a businessman and quietly sneaked into Shanghai.
He was very cunning, changing a residence every day after arriving in Shanghai, and it is said that he once mixed into the office of Mayor Chen Yi and drew a route map, which is creepy. But in fact, just when Mao Renfeng summoned Liu Quande, our Ministry of Public Security had already obtained detailed information and made good precautions in advance, and the materials about Liu Quande had long been placed on the desk of Li Shiying, director of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau. After Chen Yi received the news, he smiled indifferently: If he wants to come, let him come.
A week after we spread the net, we did not make much progress, and we began to take the initiative. When he was working at the headquarters of Wang Pseudo Secret Agents, Liu Quande had a student named Shi Xiaofeng, who had a life-saving grace for him, so Liu and Shi's relationship has always been very close. In this case, the Ministry of Public Security found Shi Xiaofeng's long-time friend Gao Cumulus.
On the evening of November 9, Gao Cumulus came to Shi Xiaofeng's residence, was invited to go upstairs for a gathering, and ran into Liu Quande inside, which was really "no effort at all". Liu Quande was surprised and very suspicious after seeing Gao Cumulus, and Gao Cumulus began to act along the water. With that, the three of them began the drinking round.
After cup after cup, Gao Cumulus did not show the filling at all, Liu Quande's guard dropped a lot, Gao pretended to be about to wake up, swallowed half of the smoke, and instantly vomited on the ground. When Liu saw this, he asked Shi Xiaofeng to send Gao away first, and then he transferred it himself. After turning out of the door to the alley, he woke up drunk and hurriedly explained the reason for the matter to the PLA soldiers patrolling in front.
The warriors followed him back to Shi Xiaofeng's residence, pretending that he had drunk too much and knocked on the door, Liu Quande thought that there would be no accident in a short time, and was taking a short rest in bed, hearing Gao Cumulus's drunken words or opening the door, he was captured at once. After a surprise interrogation, we took the lead and took out all the bandits.
Mao Renfeng's side suddenly could not receive the news of Liu Quande, and only then did he realize that the assassination operation had completely gone bankrupt.
