No more active development
(Yingwei Network, January 12, 2022) Microsoft has announced that it will no longer actively develop Microsoft Maquette, a VR art creation tool, and the app store will no longer provide access to the applications.

Microsoft Maquette is a VR authoring tool similar to Tilt Brush and Medium. Among them, users can freely create 3D models in 3D space. This tool provides very powerful toolbars including fill tools, brushes, text, shapes, imports, backgrounds, animations, saved color palettes and much more. Plus, it offers plugins for importing content into Unity.
The tool was officially released in 2019 and is free to land on Steam and Rift. But for some reason, the team has now decided not to actively develop the app in question.
According to SteamDB-related statistics, the tool does not have many active users on the Steam platform, and most of the time the daily active users are only within single digits.
Microsoft noted in the announcement: "Microsoft will take advantage of the lessons learned from the development of this app and feedback from the community, and provide better tools for future MR content creation." ”
It is worth mentioning that unlike Google, which chose to open source applications when it stopped maintaining Tilt Brush, Microsoft said that it will not open source Microsoft Maquette, but will continue to provide downloads of applications.
