A large number of "pseudo-positive energy" programs, "net red children" profit-making accounts and other content have been cleaned up.

According to the announcement, since October last year, in accordance with the spirit of the comprehensive management of the central cultural and entertainment field, the State Administration of Radio and Television has continued to supervise more than 10 short video platforms with large users and high frequency of application software use, such as Douyin and Kuaishou, and carried out a two-month special governance of short video programs and accounts.

The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television continued to clean up 383,900 illegal accounts and 1,024,000 illegal short video programs by systematically sorting out prominent problems, clarifying work targets, refining task accounts, strengthening supervision of the whole process before and after the event, and dynamically updating the list of problems found. The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television believes that this governance work has allowed a large number of "pseudo-positive energy" programs, "net red children" to make profit accounts, "low-level red, high-level black" content to be cleaned up, the problem of illegal dissemination of unintroduced foreign audio-visual programs has been curbed, and internet television has been guided to carry out short video business.

This is not the first time that the relevant departments have cleaned up the offending accounts. Nandu previously reported that in order to effectively solve the outstanding problems in account operation, the State Internet Information Office held a national video work conference on October 18, 2021 on the "Qinglang Internet User Account Operation Chaos Special Rectification Action" to make special arrangements for related work.

The Cyberspace Administration of China 's rectification action targeted various website platforms such as instant messaging, news information, forum communities, online live broadcasting, knowledge Q&A, life services, e-commerce, online video, and online games, and mainly focused on five types of account operation chaos, including the "reincarnation" of illegal accounts, illegal and illegal Internet user account name information, false fans of Internet celebrity accounts, malicious marketing of Internet user accounts, and renting and selling online game accounts to minors.
