Shangguan Wan'er is a very powerful woman who has to be mentioned in the history of the Tang Dynasty and even in the history of ancient China. She was born into a wealthy family, and her grandfather Shangguan Yijinshi and the first, once the official worshiped the prime minister. After many years have passed, when people lament Shangguan's intelligence and status, they can't help but wonder, she obviously finally helped Li Clan relatives, why can't she get a good ending? Shangguan Wan'er's political tendencies were not conducive to Li Chao's relatives. Neither Empress Wu nor Empress Wei was a relative of the Li clan, and although Princess Taiping was Li Zhi's daughter, she was a woman, which contradicted the "male succession" that had always been in the feudal era. Shangguan Wan'er had a secret edict in her hand, which became her hypnotic. Shangguan Wan'er was an outstanding talented woman of the Tang Dynasty, and also a strange woman with outstanding political talent, and her political vision was not inferior to that of Wu Zetian. When Wu Zetian was alive, he was very fond of Shangguan Wan'er, and whenever there was anything unsure, he would definitely ask her for advice. This is because the secret edict states that Li Chongmao will be made emperor, and if he recognizes this secret edict, then his father will not be able to become emperor, and he will no longer have any hope of inheriting the throne. Coupled with the fact that Li Longji and Princess Taiping were only temporary cooperative relations, the two were not harmonious in the first place. In order to fight for power, after killing Wei Hou, Li Longji was the next to get rid of Princess Taiping. And Shangguan Wan'er held the secret edict in her hand, and she was very good at the affairs of the government. It is very likely that she will later go directly to Princess Taiping. In order not to let Princess Taiping continue to sit on the throne, Li Longji must first attack Shangguan Wan'er. Shangguan Wan'er originally wanted to express her sincerity with a secret edict, but she did not expect that the secret edict had become her catalyst. In view of the lessons learned by Zhang Kamzhi and Tang Zhongzong, Li Longji still thought it would be good to get rid of Shangguan Wan'er, so as not to cause trouble in the future. Therefore, at the insistence of Li Longji, Shangguan Wan'er was beheaded under the military flag.
