With the development of time, the social attention to "martial arts" has gradually decreased, which is closely related to the theme of the era of "peaceful development". However, in the period when the last dynasty connected with the Republic of China, there were still "Wulin Jianghu", and there were many martial arts masters in the jianghu. In fact, there is one person who has also made great contributions to the world of Chinese martial arts, and he is Lü Zijian.
Lü Zijian, born in 1893 in Yichang, Hubei Province, into a martial arts family, received strict training since childhood, and later worshiped under the famous teacher Jiang Yingmen, and his kung fu progressed rapidly. In 1920, at the age of 27, Lü Zijian learned to go down the mountain and won the championship in a martial arts competition in Nanjing. However, he was not blinded by fame and fortune, but remembered the teachings of his master, eliminated the tyranny and pacified the people, and won glory for the country.
Later, Lü Zijian also did it, and his reputation was greatly enhanced for a while. At that time, Chiang Kai-shek learned of Lü Zijian's reputation and decided to hire him as his dart master, and at the same time conferred the post of major general as the chief instructor of the National Arts. Since then, Lü Zijian has defeated many people, but he is most proud of the Sino-US competition in 1945 in front of the Jiang Mansion in Nanshan, Chongqing.
On December 20, 1945, Marshall came to China as the president's special envoy, and after the meeting, he proposed that each side send one person to try boxing, so both chose their own bodyguards. It is worth mentioning that Marshall's bodyguard is a famous American boxing king named Tom Newhan, and after coming to China, he threatened to defeat all the chinese masters.
However, when the 52-year-old Lü Zijian came out to meet the battle, Lü Zijian slapped him with a slap of bagua. Frost-faced Marshall immediately asked Tom to be sent to the United States for treatment, but did not want him to die during the flight. Chiang Kai-shek, who heard the news, was furious and announced on the spot that Lü Zijian would be demoted. In 1966, Lü Zijian was forced to go to Xinjiang for labor reform, and it took 13 years before he was able to return to Chongqing. In 2012, the legendary hero died at the age of 118.
