Wang Shiquan was born on January 31, 1948, in Dongbahe, Outside Dongzhimen, Beijing. In 1978, he took his teacher from Tianjin to his home in Beijing, where he spent time with his teacher and apprentice and practiced martial arts diligently. Wang Shiquan often participates in major national and world-class traditional martial arts competitions, and wins gold and silver, and is a martial artist who can practice, compete and create. In October 1983, he won the first place in boxing (eight poles) and the first place in equipment (liuhe gun) in the Beijing Wushu Competition held at Chaoyang Stadium. In November 1983, he won the first place in boxing (eight pole boxing), the first place in the pair training (eight pole butt boxing), and the second place in gun art (liuhe gun) and won two gold medals and one silver medal. And won the first place in the triathlon. In October 1984, he represented Beijing at the Daqing Martial Arts Performance held in Tiananmen Square for the 35th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China. In October 1992, he participated in the Beijing Traditional Martial Arts Exhibition Competition and won the first place in the equipment (Liuhe Gun) and the second place in boxing (eighth-level boxing). In July 1993, he participated in the Beijing Traditional Martial Arts Competition and won the second place. In October 2006, he represented the Chinese national team in the 2nd International Traditional Martial Arts Competition held in Zhengzhou and won one gold medal and one silver medal each.
