May 12 this year is the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, with the theme of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Strive to Improve Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Risk Avoidance Capabilities". From May 12 to 15, the China Earthquake Emergency Search and Rescue Center and the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management held an open day for disaster prevention and mitigation at the National Earthquake Emergency Rescue Training Base.
During the open day, the public can visit and experience the earthquake prevention and disaster reduction knowledge popularization area, 4D dynamic cinema, mutual rescue and rescue experience area, earthquake search and rescue dog display area, emergency rescue equipment display area, etc. In the knowledge popularization area of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, the basic concepts of earthquakes, types of earthquake disasters, monitoring and early warning, disaster prevention, emergency avoidance, self-help and mutual rescue can be understood in multiple dimensions through multimedia equipment and technical means such as holographic imaging, virtual reality, augmented reality, and human-computer interaction. In the 4D dynamic theater, you can feel the occurrence of earthquakes and disasters through the three-channel surround screen and dynamic seat special effects, and learn self-rescue and mutual rescue skills; In the mutual rescue and co-rescue experience area, you can learn about emergency shelter life, on-site first-aid technology and search and rescue skills that community emergency response volunteers need to master through the earthquake simulation vibration platform of the home environment, the road of building destruction and ruins, the disaster environment of semi-real blocks and the atmosphere of secondary disasters. In the earthquake search and rescue dog display area, you can observe the demonstration of search and rescue dogs, interact closely with search and rescue dogs, and understand the training methods of search and rescue dogs and their search and rescue applications at the earthquake site; In the emergency rescue equipment exhibition area, you can get in touch with earthquake rescue modular equipment vehicles, water rescue equipment, life detection instruments, professional rescue equipment packages, etc., to understand the types of emergency rescue equipment and their application in earthquake search and rescue.
During the event, "Coke Boy" Xue Xiao told the shocking story of Wenchuan in 2008, and the instructors of the training base with rich practical experience explained to the public, and answered questions and exchanged questions on earthquake principles, earthquake precursors, earthquake rumor identification, earthquake disaster prevention and other related knowledge.
