For the full year of 2021, SAIC Volkswagen sold 1,242,022 units, down 263,483 units from 1,505,505 units in the same period last year, down 17.5% year-on-year. The decline in SAIC Volkswagen's sales in 2021 is mainly affected by the shortage of chip supply. In addition, the sharp decline in sales of the Skoda brand is also one of the main factors in the decline in sales of SAIC Volkswagen.
At the Group level, SAIC motor sold 660,960 vehicles in December 2021, down 11.47% year-on-year. For the full year of 2021, SAIC motor sold 5,463,500 units, down 2.45% year-on-year, and reduced sales by 137,000 units. Among them, the sales of the two joint venture brand car companies SAIC Volkswagen and SAIC-GM are not as good as in 2020, while independent brands such as SAIC Passenger Cars, SAIC-GM-Wuling and SAIC Maxus maintain the momentum of growth.
