On January 7, SAIC-GM announced its 2021 annual sales report card. According to the data, the total sales of its three major brands buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet will reach 1331567 million vehicles in 2021, accounting for more than 5% of high-end models compared with 2020, and the average transaction price of each brand will increase by 6%-16%.

Specifically, the Buick brand will sell 828,000 vehicles in 2021, and its mid-to-high-end model sales will account for 60%. The GL8 series set a new sales record last year, up 8.4% year-on-year, and the cumulative sales volume in the Chinese market exceeded 1.5 million units. In addition, Buick Encore Banner sales surged by 47.2% year-on-year last year.

Chevrolet ushered in the 110th anniversary of the brand's founding in 2021, and the proportion of vehicle sales composed of Maribal XL, Chevrolet Trailblazers and Explorers increased to 48.3%, an increase of 15% year-on-year. Among them, Chevrolet Patrol sales increased by 91% year-on-year.

The Cadillac brand set a new record for sales in China, with cumulative sales of 233117 vehicles in the whole year. Among them, Cadillac CT5 sales in 2021 increased by 37.9% year-on-year, and Cadillac XT6 sales increased by 43.1% year-on-year. It is worth mentioning that Cadillac opened pre-sale of luxury pure electric medium and large SUV LYRIQ pre-sale orders in November last year exceeded 2,000.

In addition, SAIC-GM's Aotony Ultium Gigafactory was completed and put into operation at the Jinqiao base in Shanghai in October, and the Pan Asia New Energy Test Building and the Guangde Battery Safety Laboratory were also opened last year.
