First equity prize in ten years! Apple Cook's total compensation in 2021 is $98.7 million

Apple CEO Cook has always been crowned the "Emperor of Part-time Work" because of his super high annual income.

According to Apple's proxy statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday, Cook's total compensation in 2021 is $98.7 million (about 630 million yuan). 2021 is also Cook's tenth year as CEO of Apple.

"This has been an extraordinary decade for Apple, and Mr. Cook received an equity award for the first time in 2021 since his promotion to CEO in August 2011." Apple said in the file.

Cook's base salary for 2021 is $3 million and he received $82.35 million in stock awards, the documents show. These stock awards are restricted stock units and will be cashed out gradually. In addition, Cook received $12 million in non-equity incentive plan compensation and $1.39 million in "other" compensation. Other compensation includes: a holiday allowance of $23,077, a security expense of $630,630, a $401(k) pension plan fee of $17,400, and a life insurance of $2,964, and a personal air travel expense of $712,488. For safety reasons, Apple asked Cook to use a private jet.

According to the filing, Cook's 2021 compensation does not formally include more than 5,000,000 shares of Apple stock attributable in August 2021, worth more than $754 million at the time. The shares were granted in 2011, around the time Cook took over as CEO.

In its power of attorney, Apple said it determined Cook's stock reward by considering Apple's size, performance, and Cook's role and performance as CEO. Apple also said its board's compensation committee considered Apple's profitability compared to a basket of peer companies, including Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook's parent company Meta.

In fiscal 2021, Apple's revenue was $365.8 billion, up 33% year-on-year, and net profit was up 65% year-on-year to $94.7 billion, making it the world's most profitable technology company.
