The empress dowager then cut off Mrs. Qi's hands and siblings, removed her eyes, burned her ears, drank medicine, and lived in the toilet, and was ordered to be "human". Filial piety saw and asked, but he knew that his wife was crying, and because of illness, he could not get up for more than a year.
Lü Hou executed Lady Qi by extreme means, but because of the cruelty of the means, he frightened his son, and later Liu Ying also died young.
Lü Hou's way of venting his anger was shocking and frightening, and posterity generally talked about being fierce. It was also because this torture was so cruel that it never appeared in subsequent dynasties.
