It is understood that Toyota plans to launch its self-developed car operating system Arene by 2025. It is reported that relying on the Arene-based automotive software platform, Toyota hopes to compete with Volkswagen, which is developing the VW.OS operating system, and Daimler, which hopes to launch its self-developed operating system MB.OS in 2024.

Arene will control basic components such as steering wheel, brakes and throttle, and manage safety systems as well as location and traffic information. In addition, the system is highly compatible, all vehicles using the operating system can use the sharing function, while the upgrade through the OTA online update Toyota's goal is to apply Arene to its own cars in 2025, and then expand to subaru and other brands. Toyota is considering licensing the system for future commercialization.
