The most reckless action of the Taiping Army: it is better not to have the city of Nanjing than to lay down this village

The Taiping Rebellion was only one of the many peasant uprisings of that era, and it wasn't just Hong Xiuquan who wanted to rebel, in fact, many people at that time had this idea. This is also the reason why the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement shook the foundation of the Qing government. Because the Taiping Army led to a great reduction in the power of the Central Qing Court, local forces began to grow, especially the Han forces that the Qing rulers had strictly guarded for two hundred years gained the advantage for the first time.

In this campaign, many places actually have autonomous behavior. There was such a farmer in Zhejiang, he wanted to take the opportunity to achieve success, he was only in his 20s that year, but now the portrait given to him by the descendants of Bao Village is an old man. Chinese and foreign experts believe that this portrait is just an imagination of bao village descendants, thinking that he should be a mature person (looking at the portrait like a man in his forties), otherwise how can tens of thousands of villagers be mobilized to follow him to resist the Taiping Army. In fact, most of the literature at that time said that he was in his 20s.

(1) There is no grown-up tyrant

In my opinion, Bao Lisheng also wanted to rebel. Bao Li's rebellion against the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom did not mean that he was loyal to the Qing Dynasty. Bao Lisheng once said to the people sent by the Qing government: "He is the ear of the Qing Dynasty!" To shou bao village land, for the country and the people, to no (for) Manchuria to guard the responsibility also! Moreover, Bao Lisheng was also unwilling to be an official, refused to accept the reward of the Qing Dynasty, and called himself "Sir", and the army name on the banner was "Dong'an Rebel Army".

However, because the idea of rebellion may, maybe, probably be, at the beginning, most of his Zhejiang was occupied by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. If he wanted to rebel, he would have to create a rebellion against the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, so the idea of creating a rebellion against the Great Qing was ignored by many people in later generations. Even the Qing government considered him a "righteous man", and many officials praised him.

Bao Lisheng (1838-1862), also known as Lisheng, was a native of Zhuji Bao Village. This person is relatively strong and easy to fight. But he had a characteristic, especially worshipping immortals, and always wanted to become immortals. Therefore, he also visited the teacher and made many brothers and sisters of the muxian.

Judging from the data, this elder brother believes in a mixed religion of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, but mainly Taoism. For example, his love of vegetarianism was obviously influenced by Buddhism, and often in self-proclaimed mr. He was obviously influenced by Confucianism. This person also sleeps very specially and likes to sit on his knees. Therefore, he relied on traditional religion to unite his own hearts and build his own team.

Hong Xiuquan's rebellion relied on religion, and Bao Li's resistance to the Taiping Army also relied on religion. Why do peasant uprisings love religion? After all, the danger of rebellion is extremely high, and it is necessary to use mysterious forces and religion to unite the hearts of the people. Bao Lisheng chose traditional religion, so why did Hong Xiuquan choose Christianity?

In fact, the reason why Hong Xiuquan chose Christianity is because as the weaker party in the Han ethnic group (ethnic group), the Hakka, after enduring hundreds of years of bullying, there was a strong distrust of traditional Chinese religions (including Zen Buddhism in Buddhism), and for the sake of this psychology of the Hakka, he adopted a new god and described this new religious belief as: In ancient times, we believed, but later we did not believe, so there are so many injustices.

Therefore, fundamentally speaking, Hong Xiuquan and Bao Lisheng are essentially the same in the way of uprising.

(2) The taiping army attacked Baocun

In October 1861 (September of the eleventh year of Xianfeng), the Taiping Army captured Shaoxing and Zhuji, and Bao Lisheng immediately led the villagers to organize the "Dong'an Rebel Army" to oppose the administrative jurisdiction of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, for which the Taiping Army attacked Bao Village six times.

One attack on the village. On the third day of the first month of November, DunTianyanliu sent 3,000 troops to attack, and Bao Li set up an ambush in the fog and defeated the Taiping Army.

Two attacks on the village of Bao. In the first ten days of December, Lai Wang Lu Shunde led more than a thousand troops to attack, and Bao Li was unable to hold out with ease and waiting for labor, and in the end, the Taiping Army was defeated, with more than 100 casualties and more than 30 captured.

Three attacks on the village of Bao. On the sixteenth day of the first month of the first year of Tongzhi (1862), Yu Guangqian led 4,000 troops to attack Bao Village, killing more than 400 people. On the twenty-fifth day, Yao Kegang of Tian'an and Hu Xinglin of Tianfu actually led a 20,000-strong army to attack again, but they were defeated again, and more than 2,000 people died. On the 27th, Lu Shunde led 40,000 troops to ambush outside the wall ridge, sent more than 100 people to lure the enemy, and Bao Li found out the plan to murder more than 30 people and returned to the village.

Four attacks on the village of Bao. On February 15, Wang Lushunde, Lian Wang of Hangzhou, Zhou and Qiatian Yiyu, the main generals of Shengxian County, attacked Bao Village with tens of thousands of troops. Bao Lishen led his troops to resist the Taiping Army together with the "Victorious Rebel Army" led by Chen Chaoyun of Gutang, who came to assist in the battle, and suffered more than 10,000 casualties.

Five attacks on the village of Bao. In March, the Shuai Jiao Tianfu Meng Wenyue brothers led their troops to attack Bao Village, and Bao Lisheng was wounded by stray bullets during the battle. At the time of the defeat, Chen Chaoyun led his troops to fight the defeat into victory, and more than 5,000 people on the Taiping Army were killed.

Six attacks on the village of Bao. In April and May, the Taiping Army mobilized more than 100,000 troops, led by five princes, to attack Bao village, and vowed to "not break the bao village and not return" and "willing to abandon Nanjing and break the bao village", and the Taiping army dispatched a large range of troops to come here, this range from Ningbo in the east, to Hangzhou in the west, and to Jinhua in the south. In June, Aya Tianyi Zhou Wenjia cut off the water and grain routes in Bao Village. On the first day of July, the Taiping Army penetrated through the tunnels of the crypts. Aya Tianyi was given the title of "King of Ning" for this reason.

The Battle of Baocun, zhejiang inspector Jiang Yilan played, this battle Baocun "martyrdom of officials and gentlemen counted 14,777" in this battle. Note that these 14,077 men were merely the number of deaths in the Battle of Broken Village during the Sixth Siege. According to various inscriptions after the fact (mainly in the Republic of China period), the number of deaths in the entire war is said to be between about 190,000 and 300,000 people, and it is about 250,000 in the middle of us.

In the past, we positioned ourselves as landlord reactionary forces. However, Bao Li was an uncompromising farmer. Of course, in the spare time of the farm, he is still a small trader. Moreover, the main force of the Bao Village armed forces are also poor people.

Bao Li's initial article was very honest, and the general text had to criticize the enemy he thought was the enemy, and most of them had to create some rumors and put an aura of justice on themselves. However, Bao Lisheng's text only said that we wanted to protect ourselves and did not want to be killed, and that the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom should not provoke me, and the Qing Dynasty should not provoke me. Don't mess with me, we're safe, and if you mess with me, I'll fight.

The Taiping Rebellion was a peasant uprising of the same nature as the peasant uprisings of the past. However, when he occupied Nanjing and became the ruler of one side, he was actually separated from the peasant uprising, and instead besieged the organizations that were also peasant armed and even had the nature of a peasant uprising. This cannot but be said to be a tragedy.

One is that I am your ruler, and you will listen to my tragedy.
