The Hero of the Three Kingdoms of Cooking Wine, Li Dian (Part 2)

Li Dian of the Three Kingdoms Liang general series (Part 2)

Cooking wine on heroes, but also about the characters of the Three Kingdoms.

Written in the front, this issue will have a large number of authors speculate, does not mean that the truth is necessarily so, the author will be based on historical materials to carry out analysis, whether to believe, all depends on personal views.

The Hero of the Three Kingdoms of Cooking Wine, Li Dian (Part 2)

Li Dian's fifth major event - the mystery of ten years of emptiness

Li Dianchuan jumped directly from 206 to the Battle of Hefei in 215, and there was a ten-year empty space. If Li Dian died of illness shortly after the Battle of Hefei, then Li Dian in 206 should be twenty-five or six years old, which is a good time for young talents to exert their abilities, but there have been no military achievements or any events left for a whole decade.

In this regard, the author can only boldly assume that careful verification, first of all, in the past ten years, the world is still in the chaos of the princes, and there are large-scale wars almost every year: from Cao Cao's expedition to Wuhuan in 207 to the Battle of Chibi in 208, from Sun Quan's attack on Hefei in 209 to the Battle of Machaotongguan in 211, the famous generals of Cao Wei in large and small battles have all appeared, and Li Dian has not been seen, which is really too suspicious.

After consultation, it is shown in the biography of Zhao Yu that Li Dian commanded a force before the Battle of Chibi, but it was only as one of the seven armies, and there is no further record.

First of all, the background of the Li Dian clan has a great influence on his career, and there are advantages and disadvantages. Without this background, he would not have been able to enter Cao Cao's sight at a young age and walk in the clouds. However, his clan power was too great, and Cao Cao had to defend it, which led to the scene of Li Dian taking the initiative to relocate his clan. The two most prestigious members of the Li family died early, leaving the clan with no political energy in its empty population. As a rising star, Li Dian is young and capable. Cao Cao loves talent, but he has always been cautious in employing people. Although most of the Wenchen strategists were from the famous and prestigious clans of Yingchuan, Cao Cao only let them be staff officers and did not let them hold real power, so it can be seen that the military power was basically in the hands of Cao Clan Sect. Most of the foreign-surnamed generals, led by the five sons of Liang, were promoted from the grass-roots level and came from cold doors. Li Dian was an outlier among the military generals, he was well educated, from a prestigious family, there were unexpected factors in throwing pens from Rong, and the Li clan disciples were already the third leader to him, and Cao Cao did not dare to easily take away Li Dian's military power.

This is also the primary factor for Li Dian's outstanding talent, but he has never been a master in his life. Cao Cao first arranged for Li Dian to be the captain of the transport brigade, and later arranged for Li Dian to be the deputy general of Lejin for a long time, and Lejin was known for his bravery in battle and the first to climb in every battle, and Li Dian happened to be a think tank to assist Lejin. From the conquest of Gao Gan in Hebei to the town of Hefei, Li Dian always appeared at Lejin's side.

This makes it possible to do so. First, Li Dian has been in Yecheng. Yicheng was the seat of wei county, and the Li clan moved here, and if Li Dian had been leading troops for many years, he would not allow some restless person to instigate the clan to do something unfavorable to Cao Cao. Although Cao Cao knew that Li Dian was loyal, he would certainly not let go, and secret surveillance was indispensable, more than 10,000 people were under his eyes, and he would know that the wind and grass were moving.

Second, Li Dian still followed Lejin, but Lejin's own biography lacked information, and It was even more difficult for Li Dian, who was a deputy to accompany the army, to leave a record. So let's take a look at Lejin's experience over the years.

In the thirteenth year of Jian'an (208), before the Battle of Chibi, Le Jin Tun soldiered Yu Yang Zhai. Note that in the biography of Zhao Yu, there are records of Yu Ban, Le Jin, and Zhang Liaotun Bing, at this time Zhao Yu generally participated in the three armies, and then when Zhao Yu generally participated in the seventh army, Li Dian appeared and there was no Lejin, the author suspects that Li Dian and Le Jin are in the same unit, because Chen Shou lacks information and this record appears, otherwise it is impossible to explain the reason for changing Le Jin in the front.

In the fourteenth year of Jian'an (209), after the Battle of Chibi, Lejin fought Guan Yu and surrendered the barbarian tribes in the valley of Nan County. The reappearance of Lejin here shows that the possibility of Lejin's participation in the Battle of Chibi is extremely high, and he stayed in Jingzhou after the war, so the Li Dianbu of Zhao Yu's Seventh Army was actually the Lejin Department.

In the eighteenth year of Jian'an (213), Cao Cao attacked Shukou, Guan Yu sent troops to contain it, and Le Jin again engaged Guan Yu, and soon defeated the two county magistrates appointed by Liu Bei in Nan Commandery.

Cao Cao was defeated at the Battle of Chibi, so the record is quite brief, and the two subsequent battles with Guan Yu were only small frictions, the scale was not large, and there was no need to record in detail. It is also possible to say that Li Dian followed LeJin in the conquest during this period.

In October of the nineteenth year of Jian'an (214), Le Jin was granted a false festival after cao Cao's southern conquest of Sun Quan, and together with Zhang Liao, he defended Hefei, and Li Dian finally reappeared and was also left in Hefei.

This possibility is very large, LeJin was born with a strong personality, Li Dian was born with a famous and resourceful personality, the two are both Yanzhou generals, and Lejin's level has always been higher than Li Dian, so this inference makes sense. As for 209-213, there is still a gap of nearly five years, and it is interesting that li dian and Le Jin have no record of these five years.

Reasoning further, Li Dian could not leave the huge clan for ten years, and he needed to take leadership responsibility for this more than 10,000 people. Then, in the case of the north, cao cao could have allowed Li Dian to garrison the area around Yicheng or Wei County in order to control the Li clan without special circumstances. Le Jin also stayed in Yecheng at the same time, guarding Cao Cao's base camp, especially taking care of the Li clan.

The above analysis is the author's appropriate speculation based on historical facts, and the truth may not be so, just for reference.

The Hero of the Three Kingdoms of Cooking Wine, Li Dian (Part 2)

The sixth major event of Li Dian - the Battle of Hefei, righteousness first

Regarding the course of this battle, the author has already described it in detail in Zhang Liao's chapter, and I will not repeat it here. Focus on the analysis of the records of the relationship between the three guards in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Moreover, it is said that Cao Cao had left a secret letter for the defenders to "thief to Naifa", Sun Quan led a 100,000-strong army to attack, and several people opened the letter to see that Cao Cao's order was Zhang Liao and Li Dian to go out of the city to meet the enemy, le enter the city to defend the city, and the defender Xue Ti was not allowed to fight.

Zhang Liao was afraid that LeJin and Li Dian would not listen, so he said that he would go alone to meet the enemy. Li Dian made a generous statement: "This is a major national affair, whether I obey or not depends on whether your plan is feasible, whether it is reasonable or not, and will never disregard the overall situation because of personal grievances!" So Li Dian followed Zhang Liao and led 800 daredevils to raid Sun Quan's chinese army camp, and then destroyed Sun Quan at Xiaoyaojin.

The above plot is widely known, but what is the relationship between the three guards?

As for the discord between Li Dian and Zhang Liao, everyone is more clear, and the description in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms is that Li Dian has always been at odds with Zhang Liao, and Le Jin belongs to the role of center coordination. Let's look at the record of Li Dian's original text- "Jin, Dian, and Liao are all not harmonious." Hey, how can Lejin also mix in, and the three people are not compatible with each other?

This is a very clear and clear record, Lejin is by no means a peacemaker, his violent temper can not be a coordinator, of course, it is not that Lejin and Li Dian unilaterally disagree with Zhang Liao, but there is also a contradiction between Lejin and Li Dian. Three people can't look at each other, which is interesting.

First analyze the most explicit pair of contradictions, Li Dian and Zhang Liao. It is very easy to explain that Li Dian's uncle Li Qian was killed by Lü Bu's subordinates, and his cousin Li Quan also died shortly after succeeding to the throne, although it is not clearly recorded, but he died suddenly at a young age, and it is estimated that he is inseparable from the Lü Bu clique. Zhang Liao was under Lü Bu's command at the time, and Cao Andu's two armies fought extremely fiercely in Yanzhou, and Cao Cao was at the worst when there were only three cities left, and it took more than half a year to divide the victory and defeat. The Li family has a large population, even if the death of Li Qian and Li Zhen was not caused by Zhang Liao's own hands, the blood of the Li family in their hands will not be less. Even if he understands the truth that each is his master, but people all have feelings, so Li Dian is not an ordinary contradiction to Zhang Liao, but a deep hatred.

The second is the contradiction between Li Dian and Lejin. The history books do not record the reason, but according to the author's previous speculation, Li Dian has long been a subordinate of Lejin, and Lejin's person is "short in appearance, with courage from Taizu", and the image of a small man and a violent temper jumps out. Of course, such a person is not easy to get along with, Li Dian is a person who grew up in a large household, and likes to read poetry books since childhood, although the two can complement each other, but the personality difference is too big, And Lejin is such a big old man as a leader, Li Dian is definitely uncomfortable. More importantly, with Li Dian's ingenuity, he must have been able to figure out Cao Cao's intention, that is, to shock Li Dian and the clan behind him with the bold and grumpy Lejin. In the five years of 209-213, when Le and Li disappeared at the same time in the history books, the author analyzed that they were stationed in Wei County, so in the long run, Li Dian's heart must have been very depressed.

The third is the contradiction between Lejin and Zhang Liao. The Biography of Zhao Yu in the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms records that "when tun yin was forbidden, Le jin tun yang zhai, Zhang Liaotun Changshe, the generals were arrogant, and many of them were not in harmony; so that they could join the three armies, and everything was taught, so that they could be friendly." "It is very clear that the original five sons of Liang, Zhongyu Ban, Le Jin, and Zhang Liao, have long been at odds with each other. The reason is not as complicated as the first two contradictions, these three military positions are generally high, not far from the garrison, they are all famous generals, and they are of equal rank, and the three have been commended and promoted by Cao Cao's cousin Emperor Han Xiandi at the same time, and it is inevitable that they will secretly compete with each other. As a result, the discord between the three generals also came to the table, no one obeyed anyone, and finally Cao Cao appointed Zhao Yu and joined the three armies, and every time something happened to be uniformly dispatched, this made the three generals harmonious.

Therefore, the main contradiction is still in Li Dian, who has a deep grudge with Zhang Liao and a deep repression of Lejin, but he is responsible for the safety of more than 10,000 people in the clan and can only bear it. Contributing to the major affairs of the country and being loyal to Cao Wei's cause, he had another layer of pressure on him than other generals.

The reason is very simple: if you are alone, you have been a soldier for nearly ten years before being excavated; recruiting new recruits to recruit a thousand people's Lejin, directly becoming a middle-level officer; but your guang clan plus diners' relatives and friends are more than 10,000 people, this is not counting the soldiers who are fighting outside, Cao Cao can't be careless. It should be known that Cao Cao was already suspicious, and in these years of external conquests and northern wars, the internal court struggle was really invincible. Zhang Mi and Zhang Chao, who were like brothers at that time, turned to Lü Bu in the blink of an eye, and Cao Cao destroyed the three tribes after attacking Zhang Chao. The lesson of blood made Cao Cao believe no one but the Xiahou family of the Cao family, let alone the Li family.

Of course, Li Dian performed extremely well in Hefei, and together with Lejin and Zhang Liao, he defeated Sun Quan under hefei City, and his battle achievements were outstanding, and the reward was a must, adding 100 households to Li Dian, for a total of 300 households.

Zhang Liao made his first contribution in this battle, and was worshiped by Cao Cao as the general of Zhengdong; the reward for Lejin's battle is not recorded, but he was later divided into 500 households and given the title of marquis of one son; These two people had already faked the festival before, and the reward was far more than Li Dian, and it had to be said that Cao Cao deliberately reused Li Dian's talents but did not give real power.

The Battle of Hefei was Li Dian's most famous battle and the last time he was active on the battlefield. It disappeared again, and it is not even known what year he died, except that he was only thirty-six years old when he died, and his son Li Zhen succeeded him to the title. Cao Pi declared himself empress dowager, remembered Li Dian's exploits in Hefei, added 100 households to Li Zhen, gave Li Dian another son, the title of Marquis of Guannei and a hundred households of Food, and posthumously gave Li Dian the title of Marquis of Yiyi.

Li Dian liked to study and learn, had a personable temperament and elegant temperament, was very low-key, and never competed with other generals for merit. He had great respect for the scholars, and was always afraid of not counting the number of etiquettes, so the military camps called his style of doing things like an elder.

Lejin died in 218, and Cao Cao was still alive, giving Lejin the title of Marquis of Wei; Li Dian's death should have preceded Lejin' death, but he was not given the title shortly after the Hefei War. It was not until Cao Cao's death that Cao Pi posthumously gave him the title. The hidden plot of this is probably able to support the author's inference in the previous article.

Interestingly, Lejin and Li Dian disappeared together for five years before the War of Hefei, and disappeared together after the war until their deaths. Whether Li Dian was depressed because he had been in the shadow of Lejin for a long time and was guarded by Cao Cao, we do not know, these things could not be put on the table even at that time, it was a matter of more than 10,000 people's lives, and his words and deeds were of great importance. The young Li Dian must be under great pressure, but also to show loyalty, but also to be careful not to give people a pretext, Li Dian's early death must be related to this pressure.

The Hero of the Three Kingdoms of Cooking Wine, Li Dian (Part 2)

From the author's deduction, I think everyone can also understand why Li Dian and Cao Wei's first-line celebrities have no connection: this has nothing to do with talent, his wisdom and courage are indisputable; regardless of age, he always appears as the deputy of Xiahou Huan and LeJin, and has no opportunity to stand alone; it is related to his identity. Cao Wei's top five sons and generals with the surname of Cao Wei were all from the cold door, with no background and backer, four of the five were demotion generals, and there was no appeal within the group, and their origins and experiences had nothing to do with the scholar class, so they did not have to worry about forming a party for personal gain. These people are all talents for Cao Cao, and they can be used without worrying about risks.

Li Dian is different, his ability is strong, but the power behind him is large, and the military power is not easy to seize, so he can only appoint. However, it is necessary to prevent the credit from being too high and the influence from expanding, and can only be appointed on the one hand and suppressed on the other. This was not Cao Cao's mistake, but it was Li Dian's tragedy.

If Li Dian's uncle and cousin had not died early in battle, his life would have been a different trajectory. He loves to read and respect scholars, and his wisdom must have other stages to play, and the burden of the family does not have to be carried alone. Ben is a Confucian life, why should he conscript from the army?
