In both the yanyi and the history books, the Shu generals Wei Yan, Guan Ping, and Liu Feng never fought against Cao Ren, Li Dian, and Le Jin on the battlefield in the Cao army. And if the two sides have the opportunity to meet on the battlefield, which side has a better chance of winning?
In fact, such a scene is still very likely to occur. After the Battle of Chibi, both Liu Bei and Eastern Wu took advantage of the victory to launch expansion. Eastern Wu, under the leadership of Zhou Yu, launched an attack on the Cao army's area of Southern County, while Liu Bei took advantage of the situation to retake the southern part of Jingzhou. If the Eastern Wu side stopped and Liu Bei's clique expanded northward, it was entirely possible that Wei Yan, Guan Ping, and Liu Feng would encounter Cao Ren, Li Dian, and Le Jin on this battlefield.
So, if the two play against each other in such a lineup, which side may have an advantage? We can make a guess by analyzing the strength value of each general.
First, the Shu Han camp
The three generals on the Shu Han side, Wei Yan belonged to the primeval faction, and Guan Ping and Liu Feng all belonged to the second generation of Shu.
1. Wei Yan
Wei Yan was the most trusted general in the Shu Han army except for the Five Tiger Generals, he could attack and defend well, not only had the talent to lead the troops, but also had quite good martial arts. Wei Yan had two battles in which he could show his strength: the Battle of Luocheng, which was drawn with the Chuan general Ling Bao, and the Battle of Yangping Pass, which confronted Pound, shot Cao Cao after being defeated, and then was killed by Pound.
Wei Yan fought with Ling Bao for thirty rounds, and compared with Huang Zhong, who quickly repelled Ling Bao, it can be known that Wei Yan's martial arts could not enter the ranks of super fierce generals; and in the confrontation with Pound, Wei Yan surprised Cao Cao after his defeat and was repelled by Pound, indicating that Pound was able to defeat Wei Yan in a state of super level play, and Wei Yan's strength value should be slightly lower than that of Pound (a strong first-class fierce general), belonging to the medium first-class fierce generals.
2. Guan Ping
Guan Ping was the most capable young man in the second generation of Shu, who had been in the battlefield for a long time, had a certain ability to lead soldiers, and his martial arts were also very good. There were two battles that best reflected Guan Ping's strength: the Battle of Xiangfan, in which 30 rounds were fought against Pound, and Maicheng covered Liao Hua's breakthrough and quickly defeated Ding Feng.
These two battles showed that Guan Ping's strength value was at least at the level of a medium-class fierce general, not lower than Wei Yan.
3. Liu Feng
Liu Feng was the weakest general in this camp, but in fact he was also quite capable of fighting, and when he entered the sichuan with Liu Bei, he was very brave and martial. There were three battles that reflected Liu Feng's strength: the Battle of Hanshui, against Xu Huang, "the enemy could not be stopped, and the horse was gone"; the Battle of the Xiegu Boundary, against Cao Zhang, "not three-in-one", was defeated by Cao Zhang; the Battle of Xiangyang, against Meng Da, "the battle is not three-in-one", defeated Meng Da.
Through these three battles, it can be inferred that Liu Feng's martial strength value belongs to the middle second-rate martial generals, and the gap is still obvious compared to Wei Yan and Guan Ping.
2. Cao Wei camp
The three generals of the Cao Wei camp: Cao Ren, Li Dian, and Le Jin were all veteran generals, who had more experience in battle than the three generals of Shu Han.
1. Cao Ren
Cao Ren was one of the few handsome men in the Cao clan, with both wisdom and courage, courage and strategy, he was usually appointed by Cao Cao as the main general of a army, the number of personal battles was very small, and there were two more characteristic battles: the Battle of Nan County, Cao Ren rushed to save the besieged general Niu Jin and fought hard to repel Xu Sheng; the Battle of Yiling, exchanging ten numbers with Zhou Tai, and cheating and leaving.
Based on the analysis of these two battles, Cao Ren's strength value is not very high, and he should belong to the weak first-class fierce generals.
2. Lejin
Le Jin followed Cao Cao very early, in the early days of Cao Cao's army, there was a shortage of major generals, there were not many generals who could fight, and the charge mainly relied on two people, one was Xiahou Huan, and the other was Le Jin. Lejin showed his strength in two battles: the Battle of Puyang against Zang Ba, more than thirty times without winning or losing; the Battle of Hefei, against Ling Tong, and the fifty-fold draw.
At the same time, we noticed that Le jin fought Zang Ba, Xiahou Huan had come out to help the battle; Le jin fought Ling Tong, and Cao Xiu put cold arrows to help, indicating that Le Jin did not have the upper hand. Moreover, Lejin's two slashes relied on bows and arrows, and it can be inferred that Lejin's attack power is not very strong, and his strength value belongs to the lower-middle first-class fierce generals.
3. Li Dian
Li Dian was also one of the first veterans to follow Cao Cao. He is more calm and calm, and his observation of the battlefield is very meticulous. There are not many battles that Li Dian can take, and there are two to name: the Battle of Yangshan, where Li Dian rushed into the enemy position on flying horses and captured Huang Shao, the general of the Yellow Turban Army; and the Battle of Xinye, where he and Zhao Yun clashed for more than a dozen times.
From this point of view, Li Dian's force value is slightly stronger than that of Yu Ban, and he certainly cannot enter the ranks of first-class fierce generals, and should belong to the second-rate generals of the upper middle class.
Through the above analysis, it is not difficult for us to conclude that if the three generals of Shu Han and Cao Wei met on the battlefield and fought each other, the advantage of Shu Han was still very large. Wei Yan was able to suppress Cao Ren steadily, Guan Ping had to have the upper hand against Lejin, and Liu Feng, the weakest on the Shu Han side, fought against Li Dian and resisted for thirty rounds.
