Manuscript of the Revolt of King Yanping

A book. It is reported that the book is a descendant of Zheng Chenggong

Zheng Wanling

, found and provided while sorting out the suicide note on the ancestors.

In the form of a diary, the book records the major events in Zheng Chenggong's life.

According to the Records of the Rebellion of King Yanping:

"Someone secretly revealed the lord of the domain: In the Battle of Takasaki, the puppet Shunzhi was shelled at siming (Xiamen) port."

Among them, the "lord of the domain" is the name given to him by Zheng Chenggong's old department; the "Battle of Gaoqi" was a fierce battle fought in Xiamen by Zheng Chenggong and the Qing army in May of the seventeenth year of Shunzhi (1660), also known as the "Victory of Gaoqi". The meaning of the whole sentence is:

In May 1660, Shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong in Xiamen.

(Stills of Suksaha in "Kangxi Dynasty")

Echoing this information, the book also records:

After Shunzhi was killed, the assistant minister Suksaha addressed the Kangxi Emperor:

"Zheng Chenggong can kill our ancestor with a cannon, can't the emperor execute his father?"

The Kangxi Emperor adopted his advice and soon after succeeding to the throne, he put Zheng Zhilong to death.

This care of the previous and the latter made the matter of Shunzhi's gun killing in Xiamen logical and very convincing.

In addition, there are folk legends that are widely spread in the Xiamen area. It is said that when the Shunzhi Emperor personally marched and fought zheng chenggong in Xiamen, he was hit by a cannon and died and fell into the water. After the fish in the water ate Shunji's flesh, their bodies mutated and became no swim bladders.

The claim that Shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong in Xiamen has not been mentioned in any historical material other than a manuscript and folklore, so it is difficult to be convinced.

First of all, the emperor's personal conquest is a major event, and it is impossible as an official historical material to be undocumented.

However, in official historical materials such as the Records of the Ancestors of the Qing Dynasty and the Draft History of the Qing Dynasty, there is no record of the Shunzhi Imperial Driving Expedition. That is to say, Shunzhi went from pro-government to violent illness and death, perhaps with the intention of the imperial conquest, but it did not become a reality.

Secondly, Zheng Chenggong, as a hero of the anti-Qing Dynasty, shot the emperor of the Qing court, and such a great merit is not mentioned in the "Records of the First Kings" that records his life deeds

, and just appearing in your own diary is completely illogical. And there's that

Zhang Huangyan, the chancellor of the Southern Ming Dynasty, did not mention that Shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong in all the reports to the Yongli Emperor.

Regarding the time of Shunzhi's death, in the two official historical materials of the "Records of the Ancestors of the Qing Dynasty" and the "Draft History of the Qing Dynasty", it is clearly recorded that Shunzhi died on the seventh day of the first month of the eighteenth year of Shunzhi (1661).

This is also confirmed by the two unofficial records of the Annals and the Qingji, the Annals of the RenguoShi of the Great Awakening Pujineng, the Quotations of the Zen Master of the Yuanzhao Maoxi, the Beiyou Collection, and the Royal Medical Affairs compiled by Mr. Qu Weiying in modern times. This is obviously incompatible with the time of Shunzhi's death in the "Record of the Rebellion of King Yanping".

(Portrait of the German missionary John Tong)

Fourth, the German missionary John Tong,

There is such a description in his memoirs

: Shunzhi already suffered from severe tuberculosis and was exhausted during Dong Efei's protracted and tiring funerals and dojos. On February 1, 1661, four and a half months after Dong Efei's death, she contracted smallpox and died three days later.

Fifth, according to the Records of the Ancestors of the Qing Dynasty, in August of the seventeenth year of Shunzhi (1660), after the death of Concubine Dong E, the Shunzhi Emperor was distraught and personally wrote the "Dong XianXianZhi".

Imagine if Shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong in Xiamen in May, then who wrote the "Dong Xianxian Letter" in August? Who, after Princess Dong's death, clamored to become a monk?

In summary, the statement that "Shunzhi was killed by Zheng Chenggong in Xiamen" is not valid. In fact, even Zheng Chenggong himself did not believe in this statement. In the "Records of the Rebellion of King Yanping", Zheng Chenggong's reaction at that time is recorded: "

At that time, I was in a trance and did not dare to believe it again.

"It's enough to illustrate that.
