In January 2022, Professor Cao Mingxi, Vice Dean of the School of Chinese Studies of Xiamen Institute of Technology, created the "Eight Fujian Hundred Flowers" officially published. Professor Cao is 70 years old this year, and the creation of "Hundred Flowers" lasted for 11 years, and the hardships are self-evident.
Professor Cao Mingxi is from Jiangsu, his ancestral home is Shandong, he entered Fujian to teach, and found that there are many kinds of flowers in this area of Fujian, and Xiamen has flowers in all seasons and looks for a variety of colors, which has brought great convenience to his creation. Professor Cao said: "There are many kinds of flowers in the world, according to incomplete statistics, the variety of flowers can reach 450,000 species, of which 30,000 species in the mainland. I can only use what I have seen and known to lock in the creation of "Eight Min Hundred Flowers", expressing my love for beautiful Fujian in my heart, in order to praise the prosperity of the eight Fujian lands ' thousands of reds and purples competing for beauty, and a hundred flowers blooming in all seasons'.
From the perspective of material selection, in addition to the ordinary Mei Lan ju, "Eight Fujian Hundred Flowers" involves most of the flower species commonly found in Fujian, such as Canary date dates and yellow flower bluebells, although these flowers are not unique to Fujian, but they are all seen and loved by Professor Cao Mingxi during his work in Xiamen.

Professor Cao Mingxi reads flowers and appreciates flowers, and transfers the flowers in the real world into unique artistic ideas and artistic expressions according to his own aesthetic wishes, presenting a variety of forms of expression, some freehand, some brushwork, and some compatibility. In his paintings, in addition to seeing the flowers themselves, they can also feel the beautiful conditions of the blossom season and the unique emotions of the flower appreciators.

Professor Cao believes that the Chinese nation is a nation that loves flowers, and since ancient times, it has had the tradition of planting flowers and loving flowers, and it is also a country with many flowers. In order to better, more and faster understand all kinds of flowers and draw a hundred flowers, Professor Cao has worked tirelessly to go to the Garden Expo Garden Flower Expo, Xiamen Botanical Garden, Zhangzhou Flower Expo Garden and other places many times, collecting materials extensively, and only splashing ink overnight.
Professor Cao said bluntly that in the eleven years of the creation time of "Hundred Flowers", he had also thought of giving up. Fortunately, with the encouragement and support of so many friends and family, it strengthened his determination to continue to do so. He said: "Thanks to Mr. Li Dewen, chairman of Xiamen Institute of Technology, for creating excellent conditions for my calligraphy and painting creation, in January 2018, I fully supported me to hold the "Cao Mingxi Calligraphy And Art Works Exhibition" in Xiamen, and Su Han, vice president of Xiamen Institute of Technology, and other leaders and more than 100 teachers and students of the whole school came to the opening ceremony, and the exhibition was a complete success. ”
The beautiful pen end shows the rhyme of flowers. Savor these hundred works, whether it is the flower form, the use of color, or the overall layout, freehand brush, are full of enthusiasm for life. As Professor Cao said to himself, "Mo Dao is seventy years old, and life is now a novelty at 100 years old." The spirit is vigorous and heroic, and the life span is still full.
