Tesla has recalled nearly 500,000 vehicles in the United States due to safety concerns

Due to safety issues in the rearview mirrors and trunk, Tesla has recalled nearly 500,000 Model 3 and Model S vehicles in the United States.

Specifically, 356,309 Tesla Model 3 electric vehicles (model age 2017 to 2020 / production date July 15, 2017 to September 30, 2020) have been recalled due to problems with the trunk harness coaxial cable that could wear out and cut off the feed from the rearview mirror to the center display.

Over time, repeatedly opening and closing the trunk cover can cause excessive wear on the coaxial cable. A document released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that if this wear causes the core of the coaxial cable to separate, the rearview mirrors of the vehicle's central display will stop working, increasing the risk of collision.

Another recall involving 119,009 Tesla Model Ss (model year 2014 to 2021, production dates from September 16, 2014 to December 23, 2020) involved a misalignment of the front and rear trunk locking components that could cause the hood to suddenly open without warning. Block the driver's view and increase the chance of crashing.

According to NHTSA documents, Tesla was unaware of any major accidents related to both issues.

Owners of affected vehicles can take their Teslas to dealers for free repairs. If someone has already paid to fix the listed issues, Tesla will reimburse the owner for the cost of the work.

Worried owners can visit this page of Tesla's website to see if their car will be recalled.

Earlier this year, Tesla recalled about 135,000 Model S and Model X models to address the issue of possible malfunctioning of the touchscreen, resulting in the loss of rearview mirrors/backup cameras and other safety-related features.

For the United States has begun to recall nearly 500,000 Model 3 and Model S cars, as a Tesla that is now nationally produced, it is not known whether domestic Teslas have these problems. Dear officials, what do you think?
