He participated in the Gutian Conference, the Long March, the Shonan Uprising, the Battle of Pingxingguan, the Battle of the Hundred Regiments, the Liaoshen Campaign, the Pingjin Campaign, the Xianggan Campaign, the Guangdong Campaign and other organizations, and commanded the Hainan Island Campaign.
After the founding of New China, he served as the first deputy commander and first deputy political commissar, acting commander and political commissar, commander and political commissar of the Chinese Volunteer Army, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and commander of the Shenyang Military Region, assisted Marshal Peng Dehuai in commanding the first to fifth campaigns to resist THE United States and aid Korea, and organized and commanded the tactical counterattack operation in the autumn of 1952, the Battle of Shangganling, and the counterattack in the summer of 1953.

On the night of July 14, 1953, Deng Hua organized and commanded the Jincheng counterattack, concentrated more than 1,000 cannons, fired more than 1,900 tons of shells, eliminated More than 78,000 of Rhee's troops, captured the deputy division commander of the pseudo-capital division alive, advanced the front line 178 kilometers, straightened the front line south of Jincheng, completely hurt the US-ROK coalition forces, and forced the US side to sign an armistice agreement on July 27.
After returning to China in 1954, he successively served as the first deputy commander and acting commander of the Northeast Military Region, the deputy chief of general staff of the People's Liberation Army and the commander of the Shenyang Military Region.
After General Deng Hua became commander of the Shenyang Military Region, in view of the situation of military struggle at that time, he vigorously grasped military training, launched a large military contest in the whole army, highlighted the top training figures, and pushed the military training work of the whole military region to a new climax.
