Recently, we learned from overseas media that Mercedes-Benz officially announced that it will release the new electric concept car of Vision EQXX online on January 3 (January 4, Beijing time). According to Mercedes-Benz, the new car will be "the most efficient car ever built by the brand".
Judging from the trailer, the new car has the appearance style of a coupe, and the Vision EQXX looks very much like an upgraded version of the concept car Concept IAA released earlier, with the entire body line design of the two cars in the same vein, with similar shaped window lines, four doors and extremely exaggerated aerodynamic tail shape. According to foreign media, EQXX will have movable body parts and retractable diffusers, so as to better adjust the effect of air flowing through the body and improve the aerodynamic properties.
It is reported that Mercedes-Benz officially said that the original intention of the development of VISION EQXX was to create an electric vehicle with a range of up to 1,000 kilometers, but it did not need a "huge" battery; but used solar energy and other resources to achieve it with lower wind resistance.
The R&D team at Mercedes-Benz believes that the VISION EQXX must have a sufficiently cool visual shape, while also meeting excellent aerodynamic performance. To this end, Mercedes-Benz created a movable body part and a retractable diffuser for the VISION EQXX, and the rear of the car can also be extended to the rear, so that the entire posture resembles a "water droplet" shape, so as to reduce the drag coefficient to 0.2Cd or even lower.
The new car will be a purely electric model, and it is not excluded that the new car will be mass-produced into a new model of the Mercedes-Benz EQ series in the future. Previously, Mercedes COO Markus Schafer had revealed that with a better wind resistance shape, the actual mileage of the new car will exceed 1,000 kilometers or more than 620 miles.
