At a time when new energy vehicles are developing rapidly, traditional brands are also actively following suit. At last month's Guangzhou Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled two new members of the EQ series, EQA and EQB, at prices of 365,800 and 437,800, respectively. Among them, the EQB as a 7-seat electric SUV has attracted the attention of home users, after all, there are not many products that can be selected in this segment. Recently, we took a live photo of the 2022 EQB 350 4MATIC Premiere Special Edition (hereinafter referred to as EQB) in Shenzhen Daxing Baode, and looked at its characteristics together.
New car features:

EQB is based on the Mercedes-Benz MFA2 platform, which belongs to THE GLB's "oil to electricity" product, the size is basically the same as the latter, but the front face and rear are changed to the EQ family style. In terms of color, there are 6 colors in arctic white, cosmic black, mountain gray, hao silver, sapphire blue and lava red.
The front face adopts the closed front face of the EQ family's "Dark Night Star Wing", the black paint panel is fused with the headlights on both sides, and the two silver trim strips in the middle form a flying wing shape with the central logo, but the front camera is located next to the logo. At the top of the panel is the "Ring of Time and Space" through-type LED strip, which is integrated with the daily running lights on both sides. The interior of the lower grille is also a penetrating double chrome strip, and adds a three-dimensional front lip to enhance the sense of sport.
The headlamp is integrated with the central panel shape, which is completely different from the GLB,which will increase the cost a lot. The split type near high beams all use LED light sources, support automatic headlights but no adaptive near high beams. The curved LED daily running light at the top is connected with the central top light strip, and the blue trim strip is added to highlight its new energy identity. The two sides of the lower grille have become spindle-shaped ventilation channels and two three-dimensional air knives have been added, which has a real ventilation effect and has done more articles on reducing the wind resistance coefficient.
The side shape is basically the same as the GLB, and the overall shape is trying to win space for the carriage, but the lines are more sleek and look more fashionable. Luggage racks, window lines and side skirts have been decorated with chrome to enhance sophistication. The only difference is the addition of the "EQB EDITION" logo on the front fenders.
The body dimensions are 4684/1831/1706mm and the wheelbase is 2829mm. As can be seen from the above table, compared with THE GLB, there are 46mm and 6mm slight increases in length and height, and the wheelbase is consistent; compared with the Tesla Model Y, the wheelbase, length and width of the EQB are much shorter, reflecting the disadvantages on the platform, but its fuller height is an important premise for achieving a 7-seat layout.
The exterior mirrors are a combination of black base + tonal housing, but integrate a slim side turnlight with a very designed sense, which is also an LED light source. The bottom camera is not badly concealed, equipped with a 360° panoramic image. The exterior mirrors also support electrical adjustment, folding, heating, automatic roll-down of reversing and automatic folding of locking cars.
The body of the same color door handle with a large area of chrome decoration, it looks very delicate, support the whole car keyless entry function.
With AMG-style 18-inch rims, two-tone five-star spokes and bright black outer rings, it is not only stylish and atmospheric, but also reduces wind resistance. The tires are Goodyear's special tires for electric vehicles, which do a good job of quieting and damping, with a specification of 235/55 R18, a sufficient tire width, and no narrow tires to reduce rolling resistance.
The tail shape is consistent with THE GLB, but the details are also very different, and the use of penetrating tail lights makes the light strip recognizable. The bumper below is concave, with curved chrome trims added at the bottom that look like an exhaust pipe.
The layout of the carriage basically follows the GLB, the one-piece screen combination of double 10.25 inches has always been quite popular, and the five-circle air conditioner air outlet is also very flavorful. The materials used in the carriage are also good, mainly soft materials, a large number of silver decorations are quite delicate, and there are mood lights to enhance the visual effect.
The micro-flat-bottomed three-spoke multi-function steering wheel is wrapped in leather, which is comfortable to the touch and full grip, and the sides are added with punches and finger sockets to enhance the feel. The banners on both sides are decorated with a large area of silver, which is very compatible with the interior style, and the multi-function control adopts buttons + paddles + directional touches, and the operation experience is relatively rich. The left side is mainly used to control the driver assistance system, supporting functions such as full-speed adaptive cruise and lane keeping, reaching L2 level, and the rear paddle is used to adjust the strength of energy recovery.
The left side of the screen is a 10.25-inch full LCD meter, which shows a delicate display and provides a variety of theme interfaces, but does not provide a HUD head-up display.
The right side of the screen is a 10.25-inch central control screen, the car is equipped with the latest generation of MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system, the screen touch sensitivity is excellent, can control the driving assistance and many other functions, but also equipped with a customized version of AutoNavi navigation. As a pure electric model, the car engine system has added an "EQ" menu to display content related to battery, battery life and charging.
The classic whirlpool air conditioner outlet was retained, but the rose gold inner ring used by EQA and EQC did not appear, and the sense of grade was inferior. The air conditioner physical shortcut key is retained below, which is very easy to use.
Thanks to the pocket lever, the COMMAND control panel is the protagonist of the armrest, which supports multi-gesture handwriting and a handrail at the rear. The panel is surrounded by shortcuts for driving mode switching, 360° panoramic images, vehicle settings, favorites, and multimedia functions, which can be directly accessed to the corresponding menu. Under the front slide, there are two cup holders, a 12V power supply, a Type-C connector and a storage compartment with a wireless charging module.
The central armrest box has a narrow opening, although the depth is good, but it can not hold larger items, and two type-C interfaces are built-in.
The co-pilot front desk is wrapped in a large area of soft leather, with star trim panels and thick silver trims, which make the layering feel very rich. The center console and door panel are also embedded with 64-color ambient light strips, which can make the star trim panel more textured. It is also equipped with a 12-speaker Berlin Sound sound system, and the luxury configuration is in place.
The front seats are wrapped in imitation leather, the padding is very thick, the lateral support of the backrest is also sufficient, the main passenger seat supports the front and rear, backrest, leg rest, height (4-way) and waist (4-way) electric adjustment, and also supports the heating of the front seats, and the overall comfort is relatively high.
The mid-row seats are also wrapped in imitation leather, the seat cushions are extended to increase leg support, and the backrest angle is adjustable and slightly lateral support. Sliding the cushion to the end, there are 3 punches in the leg space and more than 2 punches in the overhead space, which is very abundant, and the middle of the floor is slightly raised, but it has little impact on the movement of the feet. Floor-type air outlets, folding armrests with two cup holders and Type-C connectors are provided, and the back of the chair supports 4:2:4 ratio of reclining. In addition, the right side seat supports one-button entry, and the seat forward and backrest forward can be moved simultaneously to facilitate the entry and exit of the third row.
The roof has a segmented sunroof, the front section can be opened electrically, the rear section is smaller, but it is still very helpful for the middle and rear lighting.
The 2+3+2 7-seat layout used in the first special edition is the same as the 7-seater version of the GLB. Kandi is 175cm tall, adjusting the second row of seats to the front, at this time the third row of leg space is limited, the knees are on the back of the chair, and the cushion is very low, the leg bend is very large, the comfort is not high, only suitable for petite people to ride, but the top of the head is still close to a punch, and the internal height is indeed very abundant. The seat has a retractable headrest, a double cup holder in the middle, and a mobile phone storage compartment on the side wall.
There is basically no room for loading with a full load of 7 people, and the depth of the trunk is only enough to hold a backpack. However, the rear seats support 5:5 reclining, and the flatness is relatively high. Coupled with the 4:2:4 reclining of the middle row seats, the space can be realized in many combinations, and the practicality is relatively high. There is no spare tire, and there are only simple emergency tools under the floor.
In terms of power, the current launch is the front and rear dual motor version, the comprehensive power of 215kW (299Ps), the comprehensive torque of 520Nm, zero hundred acceleration of 6.3 seconds, the performance is comparable to THE GLB AMG. In terms of battery life, using a ternary lithium battery with an energy of 73.5kWh, clTC has a comprehensive endurance of 512km, and can be charged from 10% to 80% in 45 minutes.
The chassis continues the layout of the GLB, using the suspension combination of front McPherson independent + rear multi-link independent, the adjustment bias is comfortable, and the filter of road vibration is relatively clean, but the sound insulation can only be regarded as average.

In addition, it currently only provides a dual-motor four-wheel drive version, the performance of the power is very strong, may also want to guide some users who are worried about the lack of POWER of the GLB to buy it, and the endurance has basically reached the current mainstream level. At present, the user's complaint about it is mainly concentrated in the high price, but there have been discounts at present, and if the price of the single motor version is launched, it can be further explored.
