Don't think of the 2022 EQA and EQB as a simple "annual change". To be precise, from now on, these two cars can be regarded as officially listed - the previous two cars, both called "first special editions", the price is staggeringly high (EQA 365,800 yuan, EQB 437,800 yuan).

The biggest change in 2022 is that each has launched a 260 version - from four-wheel drive to two-wheel drive, the battery volume is unchanged, the acceleration is slower, but the battery life is longer. And most importantly: the price has come down!

Compared with the previous EQA300, the EQA260 has accelerated from 7.7 seconds to 8.6 seconds, but the endurance has changed from 537 km to 619 km. Although the 8.6-second acceleration is indeed "slow enough" for the "tram", it should not be an unacceptable problem for Mercedes-Benz users who are "1.3T is good".

Correspondingly, the comfort configuration has shrunk, such as the electric trunk, front seat heating, co-pilot electric adjustment, etc. are gone, the seat fabric is not so advanced, but the guidance price is also 44,000 yuan less.

The EQB is 260 to 350, so the performance shrinks even more, from 6.3 seconds to 8.8 seconds, and the endurance increases from 512 km to 600 km. The configuration shrinkage is not as large as EQA, such as the heating of the front seats and the electric seats of the co-pilot, but the third row of seats is canceled, and the guidance price is 86,000 yuan less - this range should be said to be not small! Judging from the previous sales situation, the more expensive EQB sold better than the EQA, indicating that the mainstream group is still more accepting of EQB. This also means that with the launch of EQB260, the impact on sales will be more significant.

So does that mean that the price of EQA/EQB is reasonable?

Let's make a simple comparison: take the EQB260 vs BMW iX3. Although we all know that the two cars are essentially one level apart, there will indeed be many people who equate the two - after all, there is not much difference in size and space.

The starting price of EQB is 48,000 yuan lower, the performance level EQB accelerates slower by 2 seconds (the gap is really not small), the battery is 6.5 degrees less, but because the motor is weak, the endurance is 50 kilometers more. In terms of configuration, the comprehensive view or iX3 is obviously superior, such as a lot of ADAS functions (full speed adaptive cruise, parallel assist, adaptive far and near light, etc.), but also more power trunk, driver's seat memory, rearview mirror automatic anti-glare and so on. Such spreads (combined with configurations) are roughly comparable to the respective fuel versions. Therefore, it can be considered that after such an adjustment, the cost performance of EQB is generally reliable.

Of course, an important premise of "reliability" is that you can't have too many requirements for performance. If you think that the tram must accelerate for more than 6 seconds to pass, then you can still only choose EQB350, and the price will jump to 423,700 yuan, which is only 14,000 yuan lower than the previous debut version, and the configuration will shrink...

In short, with the 260 version with an absolute lower price, coupled with the (original) terminal market often 50,000 yuan discount, EQA/EQB is finally "can buy". This is also the reason why we say that the launch of the 2022 model is the "official listing" of these two cars.
