Therefore, when "Love Myth" dares to risk a smaller audience and boldly adopts the whole Shanghainese line, such works are too rare and precious.
I checked it out, and several of the main actors in the film, Xu Zheng, Ma Yili, Wu Yue, and Zhou Yemang, are all Shanghainese actors who speak authentic Shanghainese in the movie, and one of the main actors, Ni Hongjie, is a Suzhou native, which is also closer to Shanghainese. The selection and expression of dialogue has a very important role in shaping the character image and restoring the texture of the film's life, if "Love Myth" does not speak Shanghainese, the quality of the film may be 50% off, but the current effect is indeed very good, thanks to the careful presentation of several actors.
Audiences who can't understand Shanghainese don't have to worry (most viewers can't understand it), one is that there are subtitles to assist, and it is completely no problem to understand; second, some scenes can really only be expressed in a specific dialect to be authentic enough, and everyone can experience the subtlety of the lines and the various charms contained in them.
After saying the lines, let's talk about the several leading actors in the film, in addition to being actors in the package mail area, they also have one thing in common, that is, they are no longer young actors who are tender and watery. In other words, this film is not about the love story of young people, but about the emotional life of "mature" Shanghainese people of a certain age and experience. Lead actor Xu Zheng, in the past, gave the impression of doing comedy, and some viewers may still think that he is slightly greasy, but in this movie, he wears a wig and plays a Shanghai uncle Lao Bai who has a taste and pursuit of life, living by collecting rent and teaching the elderly to paint, and his life is quite moist. Many years ago, because his ex-wife cheated on him and divorced him, he now longs for love in his heart and loves Miss Li played by Ma Yili.
Xu Zheng's performance this time allows us to see the good strength of a comedian who plays the main drama with his heart, and shapes Lao Bai not only not greasy, but also very cute, for example, when he found that Miss Li, who had a night of spring supper with him, sneaked away in the morning, he wanted to know Miss Li's attitude towards him, but he was a little shy, edited several versions of WeChat messages, and finally sent a sentence "Did you sleep well last night?"

Overall, "Love Myth" is a bit like Woody Allen's style, which seems to be full of words, but in the trivial daily scenes, it tells a little about love and life, like a light and flexible little song, which flows with the taste of life and can be sung to people's hearts.
