The hundred-year journey is magnificent, and the original intention of the hundred-year journey has lasted for a long time. We must not forget the road we have traveled; no matter how far we go, no matter how glorious the future is, we must not forget the past we have traveled.

The red hot land of Weinan has a glorious revolutionary tradition, the earliest party organization in Shaanxi was born here, the Weihua Uprising that shook the northwest broke out here, the three main forces of the Eighth Route Army crossed the Yellow River from here to the anti-Japanese front, and the Northwest Field Army opened the prelude to understanding and enlarging the northwest from here... These glorious revolutionary histories have left Weinan with rich and shining revolutionary cultural relics and historical relics.

On the occasion of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Weinan Daily, together with the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics Protection, launched a special report on "Protecting Revolutionary Cultural Relics and Inheriting Red Genes" since July 2021, forming an interview group to go deep into 11 counties (cities, districts) in Weinan for more than 5 months and thousands of kilometers to explore the existing revolutionary relics in our city. In the process of searching, it is constantly shaken, touched, and infiltrated. While harvesting and moving, he also received a baptism of revolutionary traditional education and deeply felt the hard-won happiness of today's life.

Search for the imprint of the revolution and listen to the voices of history

From the former site of the Weihua Uprising, the old site of the Xuanhuaguan Incident, the former site of the Yapan Revolution to the former residence of Yang Hucheng; from the Beimu Library Building, the Fuping Library Building, and the Hancheng Library Building to the Anti-Japanese War Bunker; from the former site of the Anti-Japanese Oath Conference of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army, the memorial site of the Eighth Route Army's east crossing of the Yellow River to the site of the First Congress of the Northwest Field Army of the Communist Party of China; from the site of the Battle of Hutishan, the Cemetery of the Yongfeng Revolutionary Martyrs to the Memorial Park of the Battle of Libei...

In searching for one revolutionary imprint after another, recording, listening, moving, and harvesting.

On July 20, the first day of the interview, the reporter came to Gaotang Town, Huazhou District, where the grass and trees in the mountains were lush. Walk into the Red Education Base of the Weihua Uprising, climb up the steps from the front of the workers' and peasants' revolutionary mass sculptures, gently push open the hidden red gate, and the sunlight passes through the gate and projects on the cobblestone floor, drawing a road to the light.

"This is one of the earliest areas where our Party propagated Marxism-Leninism and established party organizations in Shaanxi." Shi Jinjun, director of the Huazhou District Party History Research Office, said, "In July 1927, the Huaxian County Committee of the Communist Party of China was established here to carry out revolutionary activities in secret. In May 1928, after the outbreak of the Weihua Uprising, the Military Committee and Headquarters of the Northwest Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army were stationed here. Liu Zhidan, Tang Shu, Wang Taiji, and other principal responsible persons made plans here, commanded the troops to publicize the party's program, carried out in depth the revolutionary struggle to crack down on local tycoons and divide up floating wealth, safeguarded the vital interests of the masses, and accumulated invaluable experience in creating a revolutionary base area in Shaanxi and Gansu. ”

Among the pines and cypresses, the Monument to the Martyrs of the Weihua Uprising stands majestically, and the pedestal is engraved with the reliefs of 42 soldiers and peasants with determined eyes, who bravely march forward under the guidance of the red flag. Looking at the reliefs, we seem to go back to the beacon years of horn whimpering and bloody struggle more than 90 years ago.

The bucket turns to the stars, and the vicissitudes change dramatically. Today, in the exhibition hall of the Weihua Uprising Memorial Hall on Gaotangyuan, 157 cultural relics, more than 1,200 photos, and 75 precious documents tell the heroic and indomitable revolutionary history.

A building, an oil lamp, a letter, a photograph, a bayonet, a cart... Every cultural relic is a wordless witness of the revolution, they are like a bright light in the revolutionary years, through time and space, illuminating for us the magnificent years, illuminating the new era and new journey road of not forgetting the original heart, keeping in mind the mission, and continuing to move forward.

Visit the old revolutionary site to tell the story of the revolution

The quaint and stately buildings, bullet-hole bunkers and solemn martyrs' cemeteries tell us about the ups and downs of the country in that era and the indomitable will shown by our ancestors.

Today, it is still alive, like yesterday, and the emotion is full of heart.

Aoyama once left a trace and landed on the battlefield of memory. On September 3, the interview group drove to Chengcheng County to visit the site of the Battle of Huti Mountain, and in fengyuan town in the northwest of the county seat, along the winding road to the north, it was not long before they arrived at Huti Mountain.

Huti Mountain is the main battlefield of the Chenghe Campaign, which is also known locally as the "Battle of Huti Mountain". In the square on the mountainside southwest of Huti Mountain, a red monument stands majestically in the center, on which it reads: "Monument to the Battle of Huti Mountain, in August 1948, the Northwest Field Army, Peng Dehuai, Xi Zhongxun, Zhang Zongxun, Wang Zhen, the battle heroes Du Lihai and Zhang Fuqing, annihilated the enemy, liberated the three counties, and opened up the northwest battlefield." "In the old battlefield site, the scene of the war 73 years ago seems to be back in front of you...

"Our old hero Zhang Fuqing made great achievements in this battle." Guo Xifeng, director of the Party History Research Office of the Chengcheng County CPC Committee, said: Zhang Fuqing served as the leader of the assault team in the Chenghe Campaign, captured one enemy bunker, annihilated two enemy soldiers, captured one machine gun, consolidated the position, enabled the troops behind him to advance smoothly, and won the first class merit of the division.

The pot ladder is not old, and the hero is always there. In the Battle of Chenghe, Li Jian, deputy commander of the 19th Regiment of the 7th Division of our army, and 503 other outstanding soldiers stained the pot ladder with blood, sacrificing their precious lives for the liberation of the people and the birth of new China.

Xifeng said that in recent years, the county has made some useful explorations and attempts based on building the "Red Chengcheng" mission brand, building a "red base," compiling "red works," telling "red stories," publicizing "red Chengcheng," and continuing the "red bloodline." Up to now, it has compiled and distributed more than 160 pictures and texts on "Red Chengcheng", and published more than 50 articles in "Learning to Strengthen the Country", mainly compiling 8 red books such as "History of Chengcheng of the Communist Party of China (Volume II)", "Northwest Field Army and Chengcheng", and "Chaobei of the Ancient Tiehan King".

"The first draft of the comic strip documenting the commander's deeds has been completed, and I have come here today to report to you, and this comic strip will tell your story to more young people." On August 10, on the occasion of Bao Sen's 100th birthday, Yuan Zhijian, a retired teacher in his 70s, stood in front of Bao Sen's portrait in Bao Sen's former residence and spoke.

Yuan Zhijian told reporters that after a year of creation, he recorded Bao Sen's short and extraordinary life in the form of a comic strip, hoping to let more teenagers understand heroes through his way.

"In his lifetime, Bao Sen spilled his blood against the Japanese Kou on the magnificent rivers and mountains of the motherland, and in the three and a half years of the anti-Japanese front in eastern Hebei, he was

Under extremely difficult circumstances, he and his comrades-in-arms opened up two anti-Japanese base areas centered on Fangshan in western Beijing and Panshan in Tianjin, injecting the people of eastern Hebei with the firm belief that 'the War of Resistance to the End and China will win'. He was so young when he left, but he was so fearless. Talking about Bao Sen's life, Yuan Zhijian shed tears several times.

Bao Sen's former residence is located at the foot of the Tomb of Emperor Xianzong of Tang, and is also located next to the Pucheng Wuling Tourist Route, with convenient transportation. Originally built in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, it is a typical residential courtyard in Guanzhong sitting north to south. In order to carry forward the patriotic spirit of the heroes, not forget the original intention, and educate future generations, under the attention of the Pucheng County Party Committee and County Government, the County Culture and Tourism Bureau took the lead in taking charge, and decided to rebuild the former residence of Bao Sen and build it into a red education base for people to visit and learn.

In March 2019, with the strong support of the Pucheng County Party Committee and the county government, in accordance with the standard of "repairing the old as old" of cultural relics, the gatehouse, the box room were repaired, and the hall room was rebuilt, with a construction area of about 286 square meters. At the same time, according to the life of Bao Sen, the exhibition is carried out, and the life and combat experience of the anti-Japanese hero Bao Sen are reproduced.

Protect revolutionary cultural relics and continue the red gene

A hundred years of history are turbulent, and cultural relics have witnessed glory. From the Xinhai Revolution to the founding of the People's Republic of China, from the banks of the Weiluo River to the shores of the Yellow River, from the northern foothills of the Qinling Mountains to the Huanglong Mountains, the sons and daughters of Weinan have made outstanding contributions and left a large number of valuable revolutionary cultural relics in the protracted revolutionary struggle.

Combing through the cultural background is the basic premise for carrying out the protection of revolutionary cultural relics and carrying forward the red culture, comprehensively exploring the revolutionary cultural relics resources in Weinan, doing a good job in establishing a scarce list of revolutionary cultural relics archives, maintaining and repairing important sites, and recording relevant records of revolutionary oral history, which is of great significance for vividly telling the "red story".

"This year, we specially formed a leading group for the investigation of revolutionary cultural relics, dispatched backbone cadres to form an investigation team, and through consulting party history materials, communicated with the party history office of the district party committee, and jointly visited and investigated the 20 streets and towns in the whole region in conjunction with the provincial cultural protection institute." Liu Yuxing, head of the cultural relics unit of the Linwei District Cultural and Tourism Bureau, told reporters that at present, Linwei District has preliminarily explored and identified 24 immovable revolutionary cultural relics.

"Revolutionary cultural relics are a traditional and new type of cultural relics, and the current protection status continues to improve, but it is still in its infancy, and there are problems such as low level of protection, less funding, low utilization rate, insufficient research, and single display." Li Dawei, deputy director of the Cultural Heritage Investigation and Research Department of the Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics Protection, said that for the protection of revolutionary cultural relics, it is necessary to strengthen research on concept definition, type division, value interpretation, display and utilization, etc., on the basis of full investigation, publish them according to procedures, clarify their identity, continuously excavate local cultural resources and values, enhance the level of protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics, and integrate the protection of revolutionary cultural relics into the local socio-economic and cultural development to achieve a win-win situation.

A cultural relic is an unforgettable history, and a relic has a moving story.

During the interview, the interview group searched for the footprints of the ancestors, listened to the stories of the ancestors, talked with the ancestors, climbed on the steep cliffs, walked in the ravines full of thorns, shuttled in the 38-degree heat, and stopped in the cold wind... They have given us endless spiritual nourishment and life insights, and are inexhaustible precious treasures throughout our lives.

"Revolutionary cultural relics, as the material carrier of revolutionary culture, carry the revolutionary traditions, fine work styles, and revolutionary spirit of the revolutionary ancestors who struggled heroically, were not afraid of sacrifice, and were indomitable. We were honored to participate in this interview, visiting and listening to many untold red stories. Niu Gang, a reporter of the interview group, said that in the future, he will continue to enhance his foot, eye, brain, and pen strength, use the pen and lens in his hand to record the revolutionary imprint on the red hot land of Weinan, tell the story of the revolutionary cultural relics in Weinan, let the red gene bloom the light of the times, and let us continue to write the glory of our ancestors in the protection of revolutionary cultural relics.

As of December 10, the interview team overcame difficulties such as extreme heat, torrential rain, severe cold, and complex terrain, completed a total of 43 manuscripts, published a total of 20 columns, and presented them in various forms and angles such as text, pictures, and videos, and was forwarded and pushed by many new media platforms such as "Learning to Strengthen the Country" and "Weinan Party History".
