An Enpu was born in 1894 in Yunnan, a wealthy family, read a lot of books, he joined the army after graduating from zhaotong provincial second normal school, and then studied in yunnan wutang, and then under the command of "Yunnan king" Long Yun, and became a famous general in the Dian army.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the elder Jiang Ordered Longyun to form the Yunnan Army into the 60th Army to fight the War of Resistance against Yunnan, and An Enpu served as the commander of the 182nd Division of the 60th Army, leading his troops to participate in the Battle of Xuzhou, the Battle of Taierzhuang, and the Battle of Nanchang, and was later promoted to the rank of lieutenant general of the 60th Army.
In 1942, An Enpu was ordered to return to defend southern Yunnan, and the 60th Army, which had fought in the Battle of Taierzhuang, actually shocked the Japanese army that intended to attack southern Yunnan, and they changed the strategic plan of invading Kunming from southern Yunnan, shifting the main force to Burma, capturing Rangoon, and attacking western Yunnan instead.
Without a major war, An Enpu faced the problem of governing the army in a short period of peace. An Enpu has always been a person who is honest and honest, strict in military discipline, does not smile, and advocates Confucianism, so he is relatively strict in governing the army. For example, at that time, the phenomenon of smuggling in the military was very serious, so he strictly prohibited smuggling in southern Yunnan. In this way, it angered many local upper-class people and individual upper-level officers of the 60th Army, and coupled with the deepening contradictions between Long Yun and Lu Han, An Enpu was inevitably subject to the upper and lower left and right, so he resigned from his current post to study at the Army University.
When he returned to Yunnan from Luda, it coincided with the old Chiang's coup d'état to overthrow the dragon and reorganize the Yunnan provincial government controlled by Long yun. An Enpu is a person who has followed Long Yun for many years. Therefore, after the fall of Long Yun, he still maintained close contact with Long Yun.
Therefore, after 1949, Lu Han asked An Enpu to return to Dian as the director of the Yunnan Civil Affairs Department, and An Enpu became the contact person for Long Yun to command the Yunnan uprising, doing Lu Han's uprising work.
On August 13, 1949, Long Yun, Huang Shaohu and 44 others issued a statement in Hong Kong entitled "Our Understanding and Propositions on the Chinese Revolution at the Present Stage", clearly expressing their determination to break away from the Kuomintang and return to the people. The next day, Long Yun revealed at a press conference the information of preparing for the Uprising in Yunnan, which made the old Chiang authorities very panicked, so it was the scene described earlier: Old Jiang personally came to Chongqing to summon Lu Han.
After Lu Han returned to Kunming, he naturally had to interview An Enpu, who was characterized as a "bad person" by the old Jiang, and An Enpu said, Then I resign. But Old Jiang did not escape punishment because you resigned, and soon Old Jiang ordered sanctions against An Enpu to Shen Drunk. Fortunately, his old classmate who talked about martial arts came forward to suppress Shen Drunk's assassination of him, and said to Shen Drunk, do you know that the relationship between An Enpu and Lu Han is different from the general situation, you want me to do Lu Han's work, killing An Enpu is to force Lu Han against him!
By December 9, 1949, when Lu Han announced an uprising in Yunnan, An Enpu continued to serve as the director of the Civil Affairs Department of Yunnan Province until 1958, after which An Enpu was removed from his post and demoted for some reasons, and successively transferred to the Provincial CPPCC Committee and the Counselor's Office of the People's Government. He died on 25 December 1965 at the age of 71.
