But at that time, it was not a good time to attack, eastern Wu morale was booming, Liu Bei had just lost Guan Yu's right and left arm, Sun Quan braked with silence, took advantage of Liu Bei's hurry to catch fire, formulated a perfect battle plan, burned the company camp for seven hundred miles, and severely defeated the Shu state.
It is a good thing to attach importance to feelings, but as a leader, you must not be emotional in the face of great right and wrong, otherwise you will only be a relative and an enemy in the end. After this great defeat, Liu Bei felt that he had no face in the face of the civil and military officials who had advised him, and when he passed through the White Emperor City, he fell ill and returned to the west, and his former Ling Yun's ambitions were all destroyed.

Zhuge Liang had long said that the overall development strategy of the Shu state was to "unite Sun Wu in the east and reject Cao Cao in the north", for the Shu state at that time, Cao Cao was the biggest enemy, followed by Eastern Wu, even if he wanted to turn his face with Sun Quan, he also needed to solve the big problem of wei first.
However, Liu Bei did not understand the deep meaning of Zhuge Liang's deployment, so he sent Guan Yu to garrison Jingzhou, which directly led to the loss of Jingzhou, Guan Yu himself also lost his life, and the Shu state and Eastern Wu completely tore their faces. In fact, if Liu Bei can endure this momentary anger in order to try to come to the future, it is really not certain who can rule the world in the end.
When the chairman exhorted everyone to treat Kuomintang figures differently, he often cited this example, hoping that everyone would realize the difference between the main contradiction and the secondary contradiction and not destroy the united front of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of Japan.
