Sun Bing was a native of the State of Chu during the Warring States period, serving as an official in the State of Qi, and wrote eighty-nine articles of the Art of War of Sun Bing.
"Lü's Spring and Autumn" says: "Old Guirou, Confucius Guiren, Mo Zhai Guilian ... Sun Zhen Guishi", juxtaposing him with Confucius, Lao Tzu, Mozi and others.
Sima Qian, the author of the "Chronicle of History", believes that the two generations of monarchs of Qi Wei and Qi Xuan were precisely because they appointed Sun Zhen, Tian Ji and others to dominate the East.
However, this outstanding military theorist in ancient China did not leave his real name. Everyone only knows that his surname is Sun, and he was punished by a kind of punishment called "膑", so they called him Sun Zhen.

In the Chronicle of History,
Sun Bin and Pang Juan were out of the same door
, are all oniguchi's apprentices. The two went out of the mountains together and became officials together.
Pang Juan later, because he was jealous of Sun Zhen's talent, framed him, let him have his kneecap cut off, and put him in prison.
Later, Sun Zhen escaped from the heavens of life, and then miraculously returned to the State of Qi, and was honored as a guest of honor by the King of Qi Wei.
He successively planned and launched the Battle of Guiling and the Battle of Maling. Through the strategies of "encircling Wei to save Zhao" and "luring the enemy to go deeper", the State of Wei was severely damaged, resulting in the suicide of Pang Juan, the leader of the Wei army.
First, Sun Bing's strategy
In 354 BC, war broke out between the Zhao and Wei states. The State of Wei took advantage of the chaos to attack the State of Zhao and sent troops to besiege the capital of the State of Zhao, Handan. King Zhao asked King Wei for help, and King Qi sent Tian Ji and Sun Zhen to lead troops to aid Zhao Guo. After Sun Bing and Tian Ji led the expedition, they encountered Pang Juan's army on the border between Wei and Zhao. At that time, each side had a strength of 80,000 troops. Tian Ji wanted to fight Pang Juan, but Sun Zhen believed that the casualties on both sides of the frontal battle were too large, and they could not achieve the purpose of rescuing Zhao Guo. So he made a plan to let Tian Ji take a detour to attack Wei Guopingling.
Pingling was easy to defend and difficult to attack, and the Qi army lost twice in a row. Pang Juan, who was very happy, thought that this was a good opportunity to eliminate Sun Zhen, and gave up the original plan to attack the defense of the country.
And day and night, all the way south to catch up with the Qi army, vowing to take Sun Bing's "dog head".
Who knew that at this time, Sun Zhen had already dispatched an army to attack the Wei capital Daliang. Juan had just arrived at Pingling, found the plan, and hurriedly turned around and rushed in the direction of Da Liang.
Engage the Qi troops along the way,
Finding that the opposing team was scattered, he became a light enemy.
Pang Juan, who was determined to make a contribution, chased the enemy lightly, and was finally led into an ambush circle in Guiling by the Qi soldiers, and captured alive.
After this battle, because the State of Qi did not attack the Wei capital Liang, the main force of the State of Wei was not damaged. The State of Wei, together with reinforcements to Korea, repelled the combined forces of Qi, Song, and Wei in 352 BC. In the end, the two sides mediated a truce, and Pang Juan was only ridiculed once and released back to wei.
Ten years later, war broke out between Korea and the State of Wei. Korea asked for help from the State of Qi, and king Qi Wei worshipped Sun Zhen as a military division, and together with Tian Ji, sent troops to rescue Korea.
This time, Sun Zhen made a heavy calculation and came again to "encircle Wei and save Zhao".
First attack the Wei capital Daliang, and by the time Pang Juan withdrew from Korea and returned to save Liang, Sun Zhen had already led his troops to "flee westward". The Qi army was known as "cowardly warrior", so Sun Bin arranged for soldiers to dig stoves on the escape route. At first, one hundred thousand were dug at a time, and then eighty thousand, sixty thousand ... Decrease day by day.
Through the number of stoves, Pang Juan judged that the Qi soldiers had collapsed into an army, believing that "the Qi soldiers retreated for three days, and then fled a large part of them" So he gave birth to the "heart of a light enemy", threw away the weight of the troops, light vehicles and simple horses, and frantically pursued Sun Zhen. After chasing a narrow road called "Maling", a peeling tree was found.
Pang Juan asked someone to take a look at the torch,
The tree actually reads: "Pang Juan died under this tree."
Pang Juan was so angry that he wanted to draw his sword and cut down the tree, but the mountains on both sides of the road suddenly roared and thundered, and ten thousand swords were fired in unison. The Arrows of the Wei army fled in all directions, some of them were killed by arrows, and some of them were trampled to death by horses. Seeing that the defeat was irreparable, Pang Juan knew that his talent was far inferior to Sun Zhen.com.
Because he was deceived by the same scheme twice, the failure was irreparable, and Pang Juan was angry and killed himself.
Second, the legend of Sun Bin
The record of Sun Bing's person first appeared in the Warring States Policy and Han Feizi. At first, he was mentioned, only "grandson", what his name was, no one knew,
His stories also appear sporadically. In folklore, Sun Zhen and Pang Juan are brothers, and their masters are all ghost valleys.
"Lü's Spring and Autumn" is the first book to mention the "Art of War of Sun Yuan",
In the book, it is said that Sun Bing composed eighty-nine articles of "Conspiracy". But before this, there is no complete introduction to his life in the historical data. It was not until the "Chronicle of History" appeared that there was a brief introduction to him, and a record of his military talents.
Around the beginning of the Song Dynasty, there were novels about Sun and Pang Douzhi. Through "Sun Bing's Torture", "Tian Ji's Horse", "Battle of Guiling", and "Battle of Maling", the storytellers strung together the stories of Sun and Pang's fighting wisdom.
Make the characters of the two come alive. Although the stories about Sun Zhen and Pang Juan are intertwined, reading their stories is still very inspiring to modern people.
Sun Bin was tortured and wrote martial arts in prison, which is very similar to King Wen of Zhou's "Zhou Yi" in prison. Stories like this are often used to inspire people to rise up in the face of adversity and strive to be upstream. Sun Bing served as the commander of the military division in two battles, making the strategy of "encircling Wei and saving Zhao" famous in the world.
It is enough to prove that he is an unborn wizard in the ancient military history of China.
As a division of the Qi army, Sun Bin judged the situation and knew himself and the other. It can fully take into account the distribution of Wei's military strength, the combat status of soldiers, and conduct a series of ingenious "psychological warfare" against Wei commander Pang Juan. However, Pang Juan of the State of Wei "knew nothing" about his opponent, and Pang Juan not only enjoyed the achievements, but also despised his opponents, and as a result, he won the same plan twice in a row.
Especially after the Battle of Maling, his army was almost completely destroyed, and he himself was in a state of complete mental collapse, only one died.
epilogue
When Sun and Pang were originally tied up in the same door, Pang Juan first became an official in the State of Wei, but later he invited Sun Zhi to the State of Wei, but framed him again, resulting in him being tortured, his face was engraved, and his kneecap was gouged out. However, fortunately, there was an emissary of the State of Qi who cherished Sun Bing's talent and quietly sent him to the State of Qi, where he was reused by the King of Qi.
Although both countries are fighting with each other and each is its master, it is also difficult to say that Sun Zhen does not have a flame of revenge in his heart.
However, Sun Zhen's revenge used one of the most light and cloudy ways to make Pang Juan collapse, that is, to inadvertently defeat Pang Juan twice in a row with the same plan, so as to capture Pang Juan alive and force Pang Juan to die!
This psychological "revenge" is far more terrifying than physical revenge. For to destroy a person, you must first destroy his psychology.
Pang Juan's own wisdom is far inferior to Sun Bin's, and he is eager to win and narrow-minded. In both battles, they were all played by Sun Bing with tricks. Victory or defeat is a common affair, and losing a battle is not a big deal.
Pang Juan later chose to commit suicide. This is mainly because he knows that his wisdom will never be able to match Sun Zhen, and his self-confidence has been completely destroyed.
Killing people is not a head-scratcher, a person's spirit is destroyed, even if he is still alive, it is not indistinguishable from death. So, in the end, Pang Juan chose to commit suicide!
