From December 24, 2021, the company will recall 1,974 domestically produced iX3 electric vehicles with production dates from April 30, 2021 to August 27, 2021.

According to official sources, the poor welding quality at the pins of the internal contact system of the power battery of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may lead to deviations in the actual and measured values of temperature/voltage. When the deviation value exceeds the set safety value, the vehicle will start the battery system fail-safe mode, the fault code or alarm prompt information will appear, and cut off the power battery output, causing the power interruption during the vehicle's driving, and there is a safety hazard.

BMW Brilliance will replace the power battery module with welding defects free of charge for vehicles covered by the recall to eliminate safety hazards. Users are advised to drive the vehicle with caution before recalling repairs. Officials said that if the vehicle has a power interruption failure while driving, it can stop at a safe location and contact the dealer.
