Why did Yongzheng not obey shunzhi's choice of the Qing Dongling Tombs, and did not bury them with Kangxi, but opened a separate mausoleum?
According to the official records at that time, the original mausoleum site of the Yongzheng Emperor was selected in the Nine Phoenix Chaoyang Mountain within the boundaries of the Qing Dynasty, and later a good minister reported to the emperor that although the Scale of chaoyang Mountain was large but the shape was incomplete, the soil in the cave was covered with sand and stone, and it was really unusable. Therefore, the Yongzheng Emperor ordered the governor of Yungui, Gao Qikuo, to lead the warlocks who were proficient in feng shui and good at yin and yang to reunite with the auspicious land of ten thousand years.
They traveled through the landscapes and rivers of the provinces near the capital, and finally found a place called Taining Mountain in Yi County, Zhili (Hebei Province).
The ministers had already guessed the emperor's psychology and intentions, and they quoted from the sidelines, citing the precedents of various dynasties in history of building another mausoleum away from the ancestral tombs, trying to find excuses and reasons for the Yongzheng Emperor to stay away from the ancestral tombs and open a new mausoleum area.
The Yongzheng Emperor was very satisfied with the repetition of the ministers, and at this time he no longer had any scruples, so he decided to officially build a mausoleum on Taining Mountain in Yi County.
When the Yongzheng Emperor faced Kangxi, he might really have a ghost in his heart
If a person who believes in the ghosts and gods of the Mandate of Heaven does something to be sorry for his father and brothers, he will have ghosts in his heart, and he will avoid his father's undead spirits from afar, whether he lives, entertains, or buries. Although this is not direct evidence of the seizure of the throne, it is also a circumstantial evidence if other evidence can be established.
The problem can also be seen in the reaction of the imperial family to the Yongzheng succession. Yongzheng had many brothers, and only one of Yongzheng's thirteenth son, Yun Xiang, supported Yongzheng's succession. Therefore, whether the Yongzheng Emperor buried in the underground palace has a head or not is the most powerful evidence related to whether the Yongzheng Emperor died normally, and it is also the best physical object to verify the correctness of folklore, and the most effective way to solve the mystery of history. Now everything, before the dungeon was opened, was speculation, just a kind of reasoning.
