On the afternoon of the same day, the Information Office of the Xi'an Municipal Government held a press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Xi'an, and the closed area strictly implemented "staying at home and serving the door", and the city's communities (villages) and units implemented closed management. At the press conference, the relevant person in charge introduced that the current epidemic prevention and control situation in Xi'an is still grim, especially in the positive cases found outside the sealing and control area, and community transmission has occurred.

According to official disclosures, as of December 21, there were 52 new locally confirmed cases in Shaanxi Province. Since 9 December, the province has reported a cumulative total of 96 locally confirmed cases (91 in Xi'an City, 3 in Yan'an City, and 2 in Xianyang City).

On December 22, the relevant person in charge of the Education Working Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Department of Education said that as of December 22, 3574 schools in Xi'an City (including 39 middle vocational schools, 146 high schools, 301 junior high schools, 1190 primary schools, and 1898 kindergartens) were suspended, and the number of suspended classes was 2.098 million (including 1.7871 million students).

Following the timeline, the "source" of this round of epidemic in Xi'an has been initially locked.

On November 22, Shaanxi Province issued a "Travel Epidemic Prevention Policy Measures", requiring that this winter and next spring, all people returning to Shaanxi need to provide a negative nucleic acid test certificate within 48 hours, which netizens jokingly called "closed and closed qin".

At present, Shaanxi Province has completed whole-gene sequencing of 12 indigenous cases reported from December 9 to 16, and the sequencing results are highly homologous to the imported cases reported by the PK854 inbound flight in Islamabad, Pakistan on December 4. Based on this preliminary judgment, the epidemic in Shaanxi Province is a local epidemic caused by overseas imports.

In just a few days, the daily life of Xi'an people has been seriously affected by the epidemic.

Since December 19, among the 13 districts and counties under the jurisdiction of Xi'an, Lintong District, Xincheng District, Yanliang District, Gaoling District, Beilin District, Chang'an District and Qujiang New District have issued notices on the official WeChat platform, requiring 48-hour nucleic acid negative certificates to enter and exit communities, work units and public venues, and Xi'an "one code pass" has become a must-have for travel.

"Dear colleagues, in view of the current severe epidemic situation in Xi'an and the reduction of personnel mobility, it will be decided that all colleagues will work from home from December 20 to December 22."

Just joined the unit to catch up with the epidemic, Xiaogao had to work from home. When going out to purchase, XiaoGao found that the "one code pass" could not be used temporarily, and in desperation, he could only show his identity card to the staff, and after verifying his identity on the spot, he then measured the temperature and checked the security in and out of the community.

Health code collapsed, what to take to prove self-innocence? Some netizens in Xi'an joked that they swore to the sky before entering the company, "I swear to test negative for nucleic acid within 48 hours."

I didn't think that after two months, Xi'an, which passed the last round of epidemic prevention and control, took another big test. But once, Xi'an, who faced the big exam, was described by the media as "handing in a white paper".

The above-mentioned health system source told the health community that the concentration of the epidemic in Xi'an reflects the exhaustion of the prevention and control work for two years.

On November 25, a local epidemic occurred in Shanghai, and three new locally confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported. Those who were diagnosed went to Suzhou to participate in activities.

On November 28, Shanghai had a cumulative investigation of 214 close contacts of three confirmed cases in Shanghai, of which one had a positive nucleic acid test result and was diagnosed as an asymptomatic infected person on November 27.
