The 7th Forum of Curators of Chinese Universities and Colleges was held in Beijing

International Online News (Reporter Chen Yujuan) On December 17, with the theme of "Wisdom in the Future, Cultural Empowerment, Cheers for Communication", the 7th China University Museum Curators Forum and the 2021 National University Museum Excellent Interpretation Case Promotion and Display Activity were held in Beijing.

At the opening ceremony, Guan Qiang, member of the party group and deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, pointed out that university museums are an important force in the development of China's museum industry. In 2020, the university museum held more than 1,000 exhibitions of various types, more than 2,400 social and educational activities, and received more than 8.6 million visitors, which played an active role in promoting the high-quality development of the museum industry, promoting the inheritance and innovation of China's excellent traditional culture, and better meeting the needs of the people's better life.

At present, there are more than 100 university museums that have been filed with the administrative department of cultural relics, including 10 national first-, second- and third-level museums, and the Art Museum of Tsinghua University and the Museum of Shandong University have ranked among the national first-class museums.

Professor Wang Zhi, assistant to the president of the Communication University of China, proposed in his speech at the opening ceremony that "first-class universities must have first-class museums" has increasingly become the consensus of the higher education industry. As the center of campus cultural construction of Communication University of China, the Media Museum is a national platform for the display, exchange and dissemination of Media Culture in China. Colleges and universities and their museums should actively study and implement the spirit of the "Implementation Opinions on Bringing Cultural Relics Alive and Expanding the International Influence of Chinese Culture", and play a more important role in serving the teaching, scientific research, cultural construction, social services and international exchanges of colleges and universities, and make greater contributions.

The forum set up two links of keynote speech and theme report, the conference forum was presided over by Ha Jun, secretary general of the Beijing Museum Society, and Professor Pan Li, vice chairman of the board, and 14 experts and scholars closely focused on the theme of the forum of "Wisdom in the Future, Empowering Cultural And Expo, Cheering for Communication", combined with the innovative practice of the industry, the region and the department.

In addition, the event also held the launching ceremony of the "Sino-British University Museum Alliance" jointly initiated by the Communication University of China and Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom, and the award ceremony of the "2021 National University Museum Excellent Interpretation Case Promotion and Display Activity" organized by the Communication University of China Media Museum.
