At the opening ceremony, Guan Qiang, member of the party group and deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, pointed out that university museums are an important force in the development of China's museum industry. In 2020, the university museum held more than 1,000 exhibitions of various types, more than 2,400 social and educational activities, and received more than 8.6 million visitors, which played an active role in promoting the high-quality development of the museum industry, promoting the inheritance and innovation of China's excellent traditional culture, and better meeting the needs of the people's better life.
Wan Lijun, deputy director of the Department of Physical Education, Health and Art Education of the Ministry of Education, said that as an important platform for the cultural accumulation and cultural inheritance of colleges and universities, the university museum is also an important position and high-quality platform for cultural education and art education in colleges and universities. Therefore, running college museums well and improving the scientific management level of college museums is of great and far-reaching significance to promoting the reform and development of China's higher education, improving the comprehensive ability of college education, and cultivating successors in socialist construction for the comprehensive development of morality, intellectuality, physical fitness, beauty, and labor.
Wang Zhi, assistant to the president of the Communication University of China, said that "first-class universities must have first-class museums" has increasingly become the consensus of the higher education industry. Colleges and universities and their museums should actively study and implement the spirit of the "Implementation Opinions on Making Cultural Relics Come Alive and Expanding the International Influence of Chinese Culture", and play a more important role in serving teaching, scientific research, cultural construction, social services and international exchanges in colleges and universities.
