About 1000 meters from the Huangpu River, about 600 meters from Suzhou Creek, at the junction of North Sichuan Road and Haining Road, the red brick wall building. After some repairs, eight lanes, eight independent buildings, and sixty Shikumen houses formed a new commercial block, Lane 8 of the present tide.

Explanation of terms:
Haipai today's tide refers to "Haipai's current today". And Hongkou is precisely the place where the tide of Haipai culture surges. Here, it is highly praised by General Secretary Xi Jinping as "the birthplace of Shanghai culture", "the source of advanced culture" and "the gathering place of cultural celebrities". Looking back at a hundred years of history, literature, film, publishing, aesthetic education, and commerce have all flourished on this soil, and literary celebrities such as Lu Xun, Qu Qiubai, and Guo Moruo have also had a deep connection with this fertile land of culture and art. Therefore, based on the past Shanghai's strong commercial and living atmosphere of North Sichuan Road, in the context of art to make the city renew and upgrade, in the context of creating a new landmark of landmark public activities between "one river and one river", Lane 8 of this tide will become a real "lane tide".
Art exhibition in the alley

The silent Shikumen building has its own memory. Shikumen Residence was born out of the traditional Chinese courtyard. In the late 19th century, houses built with traditional wooden structures and brick walls began to appear in Shanghai. Because the outer door of this type of house uses stone as the door frame, it is called "Shiku Gate". Its salient features are also: solid thick wooden door leaf, brick carved blue tile roof door head, Western carved outer wall...
Speaking of Shikumen, Mr. Lu Xun's "Collected Works of Jiejieting" was written in the pavilion of the Shanghai Public Concession, and the shadow of Shikumen's life can also be seen in many literary and artistic works such as "Cross Street" and "Tianya Song Girl". All of this gives the building a richer cultural heritage.
After the restoration, the Shikumen building still retains traces of history. Door flowers, arch tickets on the window, railing wrought iron; bricks printed with numbers, door handles with rust marks, looming "Yingchuan Jilu" door head; walking among them, as if you can still see the fireworks floating between the attics, as if you can still ring the phrase "rushing waves" in your ears.
Music, handmade and bazaars
In fact, there is no shortage of music in this tide 8. When you wander in an unknown building, you may be able to hear the singing of the square. Every Tuesday and Thursday at noon, afternoon and evening, there is a one-hour live performance, which is the "music healing" belonging to Lane 8 of this tide. Rock jazz folk, there is always a game that can move you and make you move your body to the rhythm.

After 20 years, the "China's first Live House" ARK reopened in Lane 8 of this tide.
