Recently, The Putuo District Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage Project Haipai Jade Carving (Crystal Carving) Municipal Inheritor Shen Desheng's Crystal Carving Art Exhibition "Jingguang Art Rhyme" opened at the Shanghai Arts and Crafts Museum. The exhibition features more than 40 crystal carvings designed and produced by Shen Desheng, covering animals, figures, Buddha statues and other themes, and the exhibition lasts until February 28.
Shen Desheng has been engaged in jade carving creation for more than 40 years, and has made many outstanding contributions in the field of crystal carving, he is good at the carving of figures and Buddha statues, finely carving a variety of jade materials, especially for studying and using crystal materials. At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Shen Desheng donated works to the Shanghai Museum of Arts and Crafts as a permanent collection.
Haipai jade carving (crystal carving) is a municipal intangible cultural heritage project in Putuo District, which was included in the fourth batch of Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Projects Expansion List in 2013. Shen Desheng, the representative inheritor of the municipal level of the project, with the purpose of "hai na bai chuan, inheriting innovation, absorbing the strengths of all, for my use", has combined Chinese and Western in the traditional carving art style, ancient and modern, and rubbed into the unique fashion and beauty, refined and delicate, gentle atmosphere of Jiangnan Haipai culture, beautiful composition, dense contrast between complexity and simplicity, rigidity and softness, unique.
Shen Desheng in the crystal carving process, not only has the inner carving, Yang carving, relief carving, round carving, but also the original crystal plate, yin and yang carving combination, inner carving, back carving, greatly increase the ornamental varieties, enhance the ornamental value of the crystal.
Putuo District has 29 representative items of intangible cultural heritage at all levels, including 1 national intangible cultural heritage, 9 municipal intangible cultural heritage and 19 district intangible cultural heritage; a total of 31 non-genetic inheritors have been identified, including 9 at the municipal level and 22 at the district level. There are 23 intangible cultural heritage protection units (protection and inheritance bases) in Putuo District, 16 community inheritance and dissemination points of "intangible cultural heritage in the community", and 5 intangible cultural heritage community inheritance studios.
