Yesterday morning, the AION LX PLUS tasting meeting was held at the Aeon Direct Experience Store in Tianhe, Guangzhou.

Let's start with the intelligent driving hardware architecture.

The upcoming year of 2022 is an arms race year in which traditional car companies and new forces are fighting hardware.

GAC Aehan came up with a redesign of their flagship model, the AION LX, as a ticket to enter the field of intelligent driving.

The vehicle is equipped with a total of 35 perception hardware, including 3 zoom lidar, 6 millimeter wave radar, 12 ultrasonic radars, 8 automatic driving HD cameras, 4 surround view cameras and 2 independent high-precision positioning modules.

The new car uses Sagitar Juchuang's lidar scheme, including a "lookout" above the head and two lidars on both sides of the front, which can achieve 300-degree cross-coverage vision and a maximum detection distance of 250m.

Together with the computing power of 200 TOPS, it will provide a hardware foundation for the pilot assisted driving NDA developed by GAC EA Safety Stack.

Just three months ago, GAC Aeon made its debut at its self-developed high-speed intelligent driving system NDA, at the newly released AION V PLUS.

The AION LX PLUS will be the first model equipped with an urban intelligent driving system, that is, urban NDA.

According to official accounts, the city NDA is still under development, first solving common scenarios in the city, including straight roads, intersections (left and right turns and U-turns), and roundabouts.

Urban NDA is expected to have a preliminary release as soon as the second half of 2022, and more scenarios will be gradually developed through OTA push in the later stage.

Another selling point is the range.

The AION LX PLUS is the first all-electric model with a CLTC range of more than 1,000 kilometers.

Supporting the "ultra-long endurance" of this medium and large SUV is GAC's self-developed sponge silicon anode plate battery, with a battery capacity of 144.4 kWh and an energy density of 205Wh/kg.

What is the concept of battery energy density of 205Wh/kg? According to vehicle data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2021, the energy density of Aian's magazine battery (ternary lithium version) 95.8 degrees and 80 degrees batteries is 170-180kW/kg.

In contrast, the energy density of the battery cell has increased by about 20%.

At present, the anode materials of lithium batteries are mostly graphite, and the theoretical gram-capacity ratio of graphite is 372mAh/g, while the theoretical capacity ratio of silicon is 4200Ah/g. The use of silicon and graphite mixed materials as negative electrode sheets can greatly improve the average density of batteries and reduce the volume of lithium batteries.

But the disadvantages of silicon are also obvious, easy to expand and cause the rupture of the negative electrode sheet. Therefore, making silicon elastic, controlling the size to the nanoscale, integrating into the graphite system, and using gradient lamination technology to lay out the anode material are the main directions of their research.

According to the official introduction, sponge silicon anode plate batteries have applied for more than 50 patents and technology groups. To this end, Aeon also applied for production land for the construction of a battery factory (located in Panyu, Guangzhou) to increase the capacity planning of the patented battery.

Although sponge silicon cells are reduced by 20% and 14% in volume and weight, respectively, in order to ensure the stability of silicon, only a charge-discharge rate of up to 1.5C can be achieved when charging.

If you use a normal 7kW home charging pile, it takes more than 20 hours to fill a 144-degree battery.

As for the performance of sponge silicon batteries in the fast charging pile, as well as the actual battery life data, we will further explain it after the later measurement.

"Four-in-one" integrated electric drive, the fastest acceleration of 100 kilometers is 2.9s

AION LX PLUS has a single motor peak power of 340kw, a peak torque of 6100N·m, a maximum total power of 540 kW of dual motors, and a maximum acceleration of 2.9s per 100 kilometers, which is also the first pure electric model in which the domestic car accelerates into three seconds from 100 kilometers.

In the field of electric vehicles, the fastest acceleration of 100 kilometers is Tesla's Model S Plaid, which is said to accelerate from 0-96 kilometers to 1.9s. Compared with domestic new energy vehicles in the same direction, the maximum acceleration of 100 kilometers per 100 kilometers for the Extreme Kr 001 and BYDHan EV is 3.8s and 3.9s, respectively.

This is thanks to the highly integrated electric drive, which reduces volume by 30% and weight by 25%.

The most intuitive advantage of intelligent gear shifting is to reduce the energy consumption ratio of the vehicle on the highway.

Speed, endurance, intelligence are all there, and the last thing to see is its vehicle design.

Like several previous iterations, the AION LX PLUS has also upgraded the bullet front face, panoramic canopy and center control screen size.

The newly released AION LX PLU S also released two cool body colors, "Skyline Gray" and "Pulse Blue".

The interior adopts a new Daystar white color scheme, NAPPA leather seats, including the center console and door handle position are made of leather material, coupled with a panoramic canopy of 2.1 square meters, making the interior of the vehicle more simple and elegant.

The AION LX PLUS measures 4835mm x 1935mm x 1685mm, with a wheelbase of nearly three meters more than the AION V PLUS's wheelbase by 10cm.

The 15.6-inch central control screen with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip is the highest-equipped car engine system in the current AION series. Coupled with the newly released ADiGO 4.0 car machine system, the page sliding is smoother during operation, and the response speed is much faster when using intelligent voice and in-car entertainment.

In the main driving position, it is equipped with a capacitive steering wheel to determine that the driver is holding the steering wheel, and a DMS camera is placed in the middle of the steering wheel to monitor the driver's driving status.

Featuring a cool design, leading the rear space of the same level, introducing a panoramic canopy, smart space and no price increase, Aeon has won a place in the highly competitive electric vehicle market.

In the past November, GAC Aean won 14566 monthly sales, an increase of 123% year-on-year, and the cumulative sales from January to November were close to 107,000 vehicles, reaching the target of 100,000 units ahead of schedule.

To the specific model, Aian's sales manager Ru Haolin introduced that the current monthly orders for AION Y exceeded 10,000, the AION S PLUS order at the C end was about 5000, and the latest AION V PLUS was listed, and the order volume was also between 3.5-4K.

As the last new car released by AEON this year, the AION LX PLUS can be said to be a collection of GAC's self-research achievements in recent years, including a 144-degree sponge silicon battery, integrated electric drive, dual-speed dual motor, etc., becoming one of the most noteworthy models next year.

Not long ago, Aeon's three-electric R&D system was officially independent from the GAC Research Institute. In the future, I believe that Ean will have a higher degree of freedom and independent decision-making power than before in self-research.
