On the evening of the 28th, a Christie's auction house insider said that the damaged works had been sent for repair to minimize the loss, and it would take about a month to repair.
He told Nandu reporters that the incident is very rare, "we are also looking for in-house experts to repair, reduce the cost, children (and parents) they are not easy." He said that the cost is about tens of thousands of yuan, which needs to be borne by the parents of the children.
Chen Nianfa, a member of the Guangdong Provincial Artists Association and director of the Qiaoshan Art Museum in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, told Nandu reporters that Teacher Ren Bonian is a master of the Hai school and there are not many works left in the world. "The four screens are group paintings, and the damaged one is a fly in the ointment." He said, "The painting must also be valuable in the market." He expressed confidence in the domestic cultural relics restoration technology and believed that the painting could continue to be published after restoration.
