The second edition of the Epidemic Prevention Manual for the Beijing Winter Olympics was released: Chinese Olympic-related personnel need to be quarantined for 21 days after the Game

On December 13, the International Olympic Committee, the International Paralympic Committee and the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee released the second edition of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Epidemic Prevention Manual (hereinafter referred to as the "Epidemic Prevention Manual"). The plans for participating athletes and other Olympic-related personnel to arrive in Beijing and during the Olympic Games and to leave Beijing were improved respectively. The second edition of the Epidemic Prevention Manual supplements the first edition of the manual by adding information of concern to the parties.

The "Epidemic Prevention Manual" requires that within 14 days of undertaking the task of the race, the relevant Chinese personnel should be prepared to enter the closed loop work. Contact with others should be strictly restricted for 14 days prior to the race. This requirement applies to people who have completed full vaccination, as there is still a possibility of testing positive and spreading the virus. If the person concerned is living at home, the contact should be limited to family members and colleagues, especially in indoor environments. Increased exposure leads to an increased risk of testing positive before the race, which ultimately leads to the inability to take on the work during the race. Traveling for social reasons is not recommended (except for work reasons). Unnecessary contact must be reduced and access to confined spaces and places where people gather should be avoided as much as possible.

Within 96 hours before the race, Chinese Olympic-related personnel must complete two nucleic acid tests, with an interval of at least 24 hours between the two tests. The full vaccination should be completed 14 days before the race. All Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee personnel who enter the closed loop should complete the booster immunization 14 days before the work of the race in accordance with China's vaccination guidelines. The above requirements of the Epidemic Prevention Manual also apply to Olympic-related persons who enterEd China before January 4, 2022 and stayed for more than 21 days and needed to enter the closed loop.

Within the closed loop, all Olympic-related personnel (including relevant domestic staff) must also undergo daily health monitoring and nucleic acid testing, and can only travel to and from designated places (including competition venues and residences, etc.) in special vehicles to ensure that there is no contact with the public or all kinds of personnel outside the closed loop.

Domestically registered Olympic participants must download the "Winter Olympic Pass" application and log in to the Winter Olympic health monitoring system, and according to the requirements, they must monitor and report their health status every day from 14 days before the game, the entire game time and the post-game quarantine period.

During the closed-loop period, all personnel involved in the Olympic Games in China must correctly wear KN95/N95/FFP2 masks without breathing valves throughout the whole process, except during training, competition, eating, drinking and being alone in a room.

Residents living in China within the closed loop must complete a 21-day quarantine after the game.

For foreign players, it is advisable to leave Chinese territory within 48 hours after the end of the last match. Only those who attend the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics can stay.

Athletes and team members are strongly encouraged to live in the Olympic Village, which is only accessible to accredited Olympic participants and service personnel. All will receive temperature measurements at the entrance to the Olympic Village, and Only in cases of urgent need will Olympic participants have access to Representatives of the Organising Committees of other countries.
