The second edition of the Epidemic Prevention Handbook adds information of interest to various stakeholders and feedback from a number of briefings since October, in this way to make the formulation of epidemic prevention principles more transparent and ensure that all participants are aware of the specific rules they need to follow by participating in the development process.

Han Zirong, full-time vice chairman and secretary general of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, said: "After full consultation and extensive discussion, the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee jointly formulated the second edition of the Epidemic Prevention Manual on the basis of refining and improving the first edition of the Epidemic Prevention Manual. We believe that these measures can effectively reduce the risk of the epidemic, not only ensure the safe and convenient participation of athletes and all Olympic-related personnel in training, competitions and work, but also protect the health and safety of the Chinese people. I hope that everyone can strictly abide by it and work together to dedicate a simple, safe and wonderful Olympic event to the world. ”

In the coming weeks, the IOC, the International Paralympic Committee and the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee will continue to hold a series of briefings to provide further policy information. In view of the constant changes in the global epidemic situation, additional epidemic prevention measures will be taken in a timely manner before and when necessary during the game to ensure the safety of all Olympic-related personnel and local people.
