Break dancing was officially included in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games by the International Olympic Committee in December 2020, aiming to attract more young people to pay attention to the Olympic Games and continue to promote the pace of Olympic rejuvenation, but whether the break dance program will continue to be retained after the Paris Olympic Games has not yet been determined, and perhaps by the attention of this project at the Paris Olympic Games. The Paris Olympic Break Dance Competition will be held on August 9 and 10, 2024 Beijing time at the Place de la Concorde, with two gold medals for men and women.
According to reports, 16 athletes each participated. Participants must be born before December 31, 2008. Each of the 16 seats in each event includes a host country quota and two wild cards, while the remaining 13 places will be selected through a series of qualifying tournaments, with up to two people from each national or regional Olympic Committee being selected. The Olympic Qualification Tournament on 6 March 2024 will result in the final seven places for men and women.
